belated announcement
I realized that I neglected to come back to my original journal and announce the arrival of my precious baby boy! (I've been using my ourlittlemonkey journal for this past year, but plan to come back to this one to talk about stuff not baby/child-rearing related!)
Rylan Asher James was born May 2, 2007 at 12:51am, after about 40 hours of prodromal labour and 7 hours of active labour. I pushed for 1 hour 20 minutes and he came out with his hand beside his head. The little hand was apparently the reason that labour was so long and the pushing so difficult. It also led to a significant tear, from which I'm still healing. But the important part is that he was born healthy, 7lbs 3oz, 21 inches long.
He's doing really well at home. Our only major battle is his preference to be awake all night and sleep all day, leading to a very sleep deprived and weepy momma!!
I just wrote up my LONG birth story in my other journal and there are tons of photos from the past week and a half since his birth...
