day four in london and already, so much damage done to the wallet :( the shopping has been awesome, extremely awesome per se. my excuse is that i'm mostly shopping for work clothes and i'll never be able to get ten-dollar h&m work pants in singapore, EVER. hee

today yez and i headed to chinatown in hope for a light lunch of wonton noodles. never did we expect the noodles to come in plus size bowls :( nvm about that, we met a hongkonger waitress who was all chatty and friendly with us. it turned out she was a new believer (about a year or so) and was really passionate and warm. during her lunch break, while we had paid up and were leaving the restaurant, she invited us to her church office, which she visited during lunchbreak everyday and there, we had a chat with the church pastor and a young dude, all hongkongers. it seemed the young dude was also a pretty new christian who was ever-ready to share his testimony with anyone, even us, thirty minutes into the chat. he'll also be heading to city harvest theological college for a six-month course in the year to come. so to him, we're like a 'sign' from God to confirm and support his decision to head to singapore for the course.

back to the waitress. we had a chat about why she was in london etc., and to everything, she attributed it to God's grace. God's grace in allowing her to be in london, yet visit hk once in awhile. God's grace for finding her a waitressing job in the chinese restaurant, which she gives her two-hour lunchbreaks for her to go to the church to pray, and gives her sundays off to commit to serving the Lord, and also to help her pass time while her husband goes to work and her kids are in school. everything, thank God for His 'zhu fu' (blessings).

as yez and i parted them for oxford, we wondered what was God's purpose in allowing us to meet these people here in london. to teach us child-like faith? to help us see what it really means to be unashamed to share His gospel? to show us what christian hospitality really looks like? i don't know, but i left them feeling like they've made an impact in my trip today. and i pray that God will continue to bless them with an unabashed passion to talk to others about His works in their lives.
