First game of the season for Liverpool and it was a disappointment. I won't say that it wasn't a good game because it was a great game and a very interesting one at that, but the first game of the season and it was a loss, it really brings down your mood for the rest of the season. But, the Spurs aren't some sassy frass team that are amateur compared to Liverpool. They are a good team and they proved that today against my dear Reds. (Though, I wouldn't mind so much had they swooped up David Beckham before he was caught by Man U). First game and let's just say it was luck for Tottenham and that's it, which really it is.
Both of their goals were scored on free kicks and I always like to think those are a bit easier to achieve than scoring during the game while people are actually moving around you, trying to stop the ball instead of standing in front of the goal, protecting their nuts. But, I can't say that Liverpool won over in how they received their goal, because it was the same thing for them. Gerrard had scored on an open shoot practically and there was no way he wouldn't have gotten that goal (and don't say there is! =P)
I nearly missed the game though, luckily I decided to get on, figuring that there might be that chance that the game was on earlier, and which, for me, it was. It was on at 11, so I only missed about three minutes of it, so not too bad. I don't know what I'm going to do during the school year when there are weekday games because when they play, I'm in school >_< So let's pray for maybe a night game. If not, then I'll have to live with watching only Real Madrid seeing as so far, most of their games have been night games which is about 3 or 4pm my time and I'm out of school by then. But, with my luck? I really won't be able to watch any games. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.
Key points in the game I found interesting: the most exciting part of the game (though it all was exciting, but this really caught my attention more than anything) was the clash with Carragher and Skrtel. Somebody obviously wasn't paying attention seeing Carragher had to have a bandage around his head and Skrtel was bleeding and his jaw was a near mess xD Poor guys. And when Skrtel was taken out and subbed, they showed him a few minutes later and he looked pissed holding the ice to his jaw >_> I'd be pissed too if I busted my jaw and my team was losing.
Another was when Torres fell towards the end of the game. I guess I never really noticed, but player really like to shove when their teammates go down because when Torres did, Leiva (I believe, I didn't see exactly) didn't hesitate to push the player who "brought him down". I dunno. Growing up with American football, I guess I never really noticed how physical football/soccer was.
And to top of this disaster of a cake, the rotten cherry is standing as the fact that Man Utd haven't failed to win their games. AKLSDKJS. Pft. Just a lucky start >_<
Andddd it didn't look like Riera played today (and if he did, I didn't see, because I'm blind).
Mm, a little less than two weeks until the start of the La Liga season.
And, a little Cesc from yesterday's game.
