Trouting?

Now, I was a little creeped out when I started receiving AIM's from random people. I don't give out my screen name randomly, and well.. everything I post on the internet is mostly private. So how am I getting these messages? I did some research... and apparently a lot of people are having this "trouting" issue.
Why all these messages are coming from a name ending in trout? And why they end up to be normal every day people saying things to me, I have no clue.
Anyone have anything on this?
