Icon Banner Tutorial.

Feb 11, 2010 22:29

A few people have asked a request for this tutorial So I thought I'd post it here :D

Sorry About the size of the screencaps...

Start with a blank canvas, Make it relatively big mines 1280 x 800, On background content make sure it's on Transparent.

It should then end up like this. Note, it will automatically reduce the zoom to 66.7% Just set it back to 100%

Then Open the icons you are using. Don't worry about my layout it was just to show the icons I was using.

Then one by one. get your Rectangular Marquee Tool, drag it over the icon so it's selected then go Edit >> Copy. Then Edit  >> Paste onto the blank canvas

Eventually it should end up like this, make sure you Merge Visible Layers. NOT Flatten or you'll end up with a white background.

Then get your Crop Tool, And Crop around the picture but leave a bit of space for text and things.

Add your text and brushes - I just put the name - then Merge Visible Layers again. Then crop so it's nearer the picture. Then SAVE!

Hope that was helpful. Leave a comment if it was any good :)
If you would like to link this tutorial anywhere feel free. Please don't use this as your own though.

And That's It :)
