Today I suddenly remembered CLC. their last comeback, Like, has not attracted my attention. I listened to the song once or twice and it didn’t stick so like I always do, I listened to someone else. So anyway today I suddenly remembered CLC and remembered that Like is not a single but part of an album so I want to check out the remaining songs in the album to see whether there would be anything that I can listen to.
So I went to Youtube and saw that all the songs in the album had a copyright claim from Cube Ent. And we can’t listen to them. All the videos either have the audio muted or slowed to 80 per cent speed.
So what I did was to not listen at all. I closed youtube and went back to what I was doing.
What would follow is that I would likely forget about CLC. I would never check them out again, because they’re one of the millions of artists that exist in this world. And Cube Ent. Has just lost a potential customer of concert tickets, and many other things that may follow.
How many people may have done the same thing?
If I were an artist, I would make money from
1. Sale of 320kbps lossless very high quality recorded songs of mine
2. live shows
3. Meet and greets, fansigns, appearances in talk shows, events, etc.
4. product placement in MVs, endorsement of products
5. royalties when you want to use my music for commercial purpose, like in movies or in shops.
The money used to produce the songs will come from investors and patrons.
I think Cube Ent. Is not doing something that is beneficial for CLC.
This is my opinion. i’m not saying it’s right. it’s just my opinion.
