Tooting my own horn -- Literally and Figuratively
New-to-me car. Super cool and cute. SPARKLY PURPLE!
During an offhand "hi" in the office hall the Director of Facilities and I started chatting about the office morale at the one-year acquisition/merger anniversary. She's been tasked by her VP to report on the situation and has been asking around. She's had many many 'we've got low morale' discussions with employees, but can't figure out where the problems really lie. HA HA--Here I come to save the day! (play mighty mouse music please)
Since I was able to give specific examples of issues and have the benefit of working with multiple departments in the past year, I've been invited to a meeting with her VP and some others from HQ to discuss issues, processes, headcount, etc.
I feel as though I can finally make a worthwhile impact here. This is such a an enormous mood booster. (ok, yes, a bit of an ego trip, too--but how often do you get to say "YAY ME" at work?) Horn toot!
