Half of the first set of Christmas projects is now complete, and waiting for me to be able to give them away. However, I'm waiting on something little that I just ordered today. Labels!
I found a pin on pinterest that showed how to make your own, or order your own, labels. Basically, it's a website that allows someone to create custom fabric. The user uploads a picture, and then has the system repeat that picture as a pattern over the fabric. So, I created my own label, uploaded, and ordered them this morthing. Should arrive the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Just need to figure out if I can get them prepped and sewn into the projects that I've finished.
Otherwise, they're going to be a part of everything that I create for other people from now on. Just cause I can.
Meanwhile, I'm organizing. I can't do a whole lot with the second half of my projects this weekend - we leave on Sunday for a trade show in Chicago. Once we get back, we have a dinner with a former coworker and his wife on Friday, then the SO's cousin, her husband, and three kids are coming to our house on Saturday to spend some time with us, and spend the night. Following that is Thanksgiving.
Crap, I need to figure out what I'm going to take to my family's ThanksChristGivingMas. Cookies maybe. The Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies have been going over really really well everywhere - do I want to share that with family?
Meanwhile, I made the questionable decision to agree to a long distance Secret Santa thing that the aforementioned formore coworker's wife (currently a coworker) is putting together. Not too worried about it, as I purchased fabric that I'm not using currently. At minimum, I can create a small flat bottomed zippered bag pretty darn quickly.
I've also been doing bad by visiting pinterest and website pages that list the 25 best DIY Christmas gifts... One of them looks promising for either my quartet or the secret santa thing. Specifically, a candy bowl made out of candy. Just the thought of doing that just for the hell of it makes me weirdly excited.
I also have something going on every weekend from here through Christmas. I don't think I'm going to see my husband on weeknights if I'm going to get any of my plans done.
