I did get in on my geology field trip and that makes me happy. Especially because it turned out to be really fun. My hiking boots are sitting on the ledge outside my window right now becasue there are absolutely covered in Idaho mud.
I didn't get the email until last minute that told me I got in on the field trip because someone dropped out. So at that time Sarah was already over and we were having a mini-anime marathon. She'd never seen Ouran so we watched the first 12 episodes or so... but then I had to get up at 6:30 this morning... and of course too many years in band have engrained in my mind, you don't sleep on a moving vehicle with your peers in the vicinity and no "real" adult. So I didn't sleep at all. And I didn't sleep last weekend because of Lionel Hampton and I didn't sleep the one before that because I was sick and the only thing I had with fever represser was Nyquill which makes me more awake, not more sleepy, and the weekend before that was the anime club 12 hour... Tonight and tommorrow I am going to get a decent night's sleep!
I got to play with the Japanese students again (on wednesday, and then back in the begining of february) it was fun. We were supposed to be looking up department stores but I ended up talking music with Maiko-san. That was fun, we knew and liked a lot of the same artists. She asked me to show her some American Artists and I just blanked, the only one that came to mind was Backstreet boys. Eventually I did remember some better ones, I showed her Reliant K and Bowling for Soup. I wanted to show her "The Pirates who don't do anything!" but I couldn't find the music video for it and I didn't want to show her the ones that pop up on Youtube of random people singing along.
So yet again, I'm going to be spending next fall semester in Community 317... oh well
My mythology test didn't go nearly as bad as I was expecting. Although the last "Short Essay" question is utter delerious ramblings... I took the exam with a fever of 103 point something (oh wow... too much Broadcast AP style if I actually just typed that out >_<). I'd already skipped all my classes that day and was intending to skip that one and make up the exam when I was more lucid, but she never emailed me back. And since it was the friday before presidents weekend I didn't want her thinking that I was just skipping out to go home early so I took it then. I ended up getting a B. A low B mind you, but a B none the less.
So one of my teachers that I was planning on getting a letter of recomendation from doesn't even remember me. THERE WERE ONLY EIGHT OTHER PEOPLE IN THE CLASS AND I WAS THE ONLY GIRL!!! and he still doesn't remember me and refuses to write me a letter of recomendation... so things aren't going so well right now on the paperwork homefront.
So this time next weekend I will be home... But I didn't realize that it was soooooooooooooo soon. I still have a bunch of papers that need to be turned in the first day back after spring break that I haven't even started and I'm going to be in San Diego with mom for most of spring break. So everythings kind of piling down on my right now...
The Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival was last weekend and I got to help out with that. I was a bouncer. It was actually really fun. I was working a secondary site and it was hosting a bunch of high school combos and some of them were really fairly extraordinary. But their parents are really annoying and pushy and their friends are annoying in a different way.
Okay, I need to go study for my geo exam and my Japanese exam some before club. So I'll write more later... mostly I just wanted to post to show off my new icon... It amuses me.
