Okay, so I haven't updated in a while and I probably won't update again until thanksgiving-ish.
It's been crazy hectic lately. Too much marching band stuff. (and we keep losing! >_< ; If we don't beat the Huskies we won't be going to a bowl game! ... but it doesn't look like I'll be going on a bowl trip anyways, cause its gonna be one of the 3 flute trips)
I have four and a half decent sized papers due this week and an exam that if I get lower than a B on I won't be able to qualify for COM 290 which means I won't be able to certify for my major, which means it'll screw up my plans for study abroad! (and just when I got a hold of the paper work too!) ARGH!!! The teacher doesn't curve grades and now it's a hundred point exam with each question worth three points! I'm screwed. There' s no way around it!
So this weekend was WooTstock, Matsuri, Anime 12 hour and Whitney's family had taken over my dorm room! I mean seriously it's four days before she goes home for a week. They couldn't have waited. I got less than 8 hours of sleep total this weekend because of all the stuff/ and homework I was doing.
On the way to Matsuri me and Sarah I. stood out at the bus stop for literally an hour in 34 degree weather and then it started hailing, HUGE chunks of a hail, like seriously quarter-sized, and there was lightening. We froze, went to Matsuri had a TON of fun. I'll get extra credit once I write a reflection on it. On the bus back though, we were stuck with a bunch of HIGHLY HIGHLY drunk girls and three frat boys on a 21 run. According to their high pitched shrieking they'd been drinking since one and only had two more bars to hit before they'd been to all the bars in Pullman. (mind you, that it was almost 12 hours since they'd started drinking). The Frat boys started yelling "ROCK THE BUS! ROCK THE BUS! ROCK THE BUS!" and all stood up and grabbed onto the bars and started rocking back and forth but they were too drunk to coordinate themselves, that they were all going in opposite directions and opposite speeds so they each negated each other. It was actually fairly amusing to watch.
WooTstock I stayed until four am working on my Japanese final with Libby and Liz. Went home typed it up. Slept for two hours and then went to half of the 12 hour before Matsuri (It was election day so I had to go). WooTstock had to be pushed into the Rec Center this year because the CUB is gone. But the rec center wasn't designed to host 100 odd computers, TVs and a projecter. We kept frying the circuits and one time towards the begining we somehow got attached to the same circuit as the lights and sent the whole gym into darkness (There was an intermural girls soccer game going on next court over and when the lights went out they all started screaming).
We had a huge windstorm last night and normally it would sound very cool. But I'm in an old dorm whose windows don't quite fit so the wind kept slamming them back and forth and constantly rattling them all night long. And at some point after I went to bed at five am. the power went out. So my alarm clock didn't go off this morning and I got up at 8:40 when my first class starts at 9. Somehow I still got ready in time. I'm still not sure how. T
The wind caused a lot of damage. It pulled a TON of shingles off of Murrow East and they're now all over the Hello Walk, Bryan Hall's yard and in the skeleton trees, and bushes. Over by Eastlick the top of a large tree broke off and got somehow stuck between two other trees, So the chunk that fell off is about 11 feet tall and sandwiched right side up and is hovering about two feet off the ground, it;s like a whole other tree grew there over night. I'll probably put pictures of it up later.
So while I was working on my Chinese paper last night I was flipping through channels looking for decent background noise and "It Takes Two" was on. I'd forgotten how obsessed I used to be with that movie. I hadn't seen it in at least ten years... yet I still had every line memorized. How pathetic is that?
So I'm gonna get back to my other homework again. I'll see you sometime sunday evening-ish!
