(no subject)
Okay so it's friday. I only have one class on Friday's and its at one. But afterwards I'm catching a bus with a friend to the Pullman library so I can get a library card and check out fantasy books and manga. The Library on campus you have to search for everything by name and that's not how you pick fantasy books, anyone who's ever read one will know that you just go browse the section for one that looks promising.
So this weekend is labor day weekend and seriously ALL my friends are going home, well there's some close aquatances from my soroity that I'm doing some stuff with on Saturday, and Susan who talks my ear off every time I pass her room is still going to be here. But Sarah P, Liz, Sarah T, Tiffany, Kaytea, Whitney, Linzy, Judy, Geneva, Sonja, Nick, Sarah H, Laura, Ashley, Clara, Angela, Emily N, Emily W, Brittany, Brian, Dylan, Keegan, Ryan... EVERYONE is going home for the weekend. Well technically Susan's going home but she lives in Colfax (30 mins away) so it doesn't count.
That remains these stupid field fires are Annoying as heck. So they've been burning for three weeks now. Incidentally Governor Gregiore has declared a state of Emergency because of the Colfax and Dayton Field Fires, and the Spokane/Wenatchee fire (I don't remember which one has the fire, both names are rather snonyomous to me). The wind keeps changing directions by the minute (welcome to Pullman) and campus has been in a giant smoke cloud for the past week and half. The smoke is wreaking havoc on anyone with strong Asthma and Allergy issues so both Whitney and Sonja have been messes this week. Last night the cloud shifted a little and instead of smoke we were getting smoke and ash. White stuff kept falling out of the sky, it looked like snow it was kind of cool (except for the fact that it was far too warm, 94, to snow). But whenever you tried to brush the ash away it just left giant white smears. By the end of band practice it looked as if we had all been seriously rolling around in a giant white chalk pit.
Okay, I've gotta go get Brunch before Hillside becomes a giant mosh pit so I'll talk to everyone later! It was nice yesterday because I went over to Kaytea and Liz's room and we broke the rules and cooked Tuscan grilled sandwhiches in their room and just to piss off all the idiotic freshmen that have invaded the anime hall, because all the anime people are now juniors other than me and Liz and have incidentally moved into apartments, grilled halibit in the laundry room. Why? For the Hal-a-Bit! Har-har-har... My daddy would be so proud! So incidentally for lunch I had tuscan grilled sandwhich and halibit that had been marinated in teriyaki sauce, water chestnuts, and some other really sweet asian sauce, I think it was probably Yakisoba sauce but it was REALLY good! They had to get rid of all the fresh food in their fridge because they were going back home for the weekend (darn them!) But I finally got a hold of Crystal and club for SURE starts on the 6th!
Okay so I'm really going to get food now. (But i'm already sick of the food at Hillside and am too lazy to walk down to Northside which has the better food).
