A/N: Sorry this is way shorter than the previous chap. I wanted to post this along with the other parts but I'm not done writing. =/ And because I didn’t want to make you wait too long for an update, I decided to just go ahead and post the first half. I hope you like it!

A Madman in Love

***
Yunho looked on in amusement as the young composer struggled for words. It wasn’t everyday he got to render the fiery Jaejoong speechless. He was proud and he most definitely liked being in control for a change. And he figured, in order to match someone as extraordinary as Jaejoong, a run-of-the-mill pursuer wasn’t going to cut it. He needed to be something more.

To celebrate this rare occasion, he allowed his grin to linger for a little while despite the angry glare he was receiving from the man across him.

Jaejoong’s mouth parted as if to say something but he was too dumbfounded at that moment to even think intelligibly. He didn’t expect Yunho to pull something as foolish as this. In attempt to salvage the situation, Jaejoong broke the awkward silence by voicing his demands.

"Turn the car around," he spoke at last, gaining back his momentum. "If you think this is going to help, then you're making a huge mistake-red light you idiot!" he gasped, hands bracing against the dashboard.

Yunho slammed on the brakes, jolting the car into a halt. Unbuckling his seatbelt, he then leaned towards Jaejoong until they were just a breath apart.

Jaejoong's eyes narrowed as he stammered, "W-What are you doing?"

"Relax," Yunho smiled wryly. He reached behind Jaejoong's waist, his breath warming the other's pale cheek. Then there was a soft click as he pushed the metal ends together. "Just keeping you safe," Yunho said, securely strapping him in.

Jaejoong was flustered for thinking differently.

Yunho grinned, reclining back. "Did you want me to kiss you?" he teased, replacing the safety strap around himself.

"I wasn’t thinking that!” he defended. Jaejoong wanted to kick Yunho’s face in frustration. He hated how this man ruffled his feathers so easily.

"Just where the hell are you taking me?"

"I’m glad you asked." Yunho stepped on the gas as soon as the traffic light switched to green. With eyes focused on the road he then went on explaining, "We'll have Yoochun's townhouse in Gyeongju for the whole weekend. Just the two of us... which means I get to have you for myself,” he grinned sheepishly. “How does that sound?"

"It sounds to me that you’re going mad,” Jaejoong hissed. “If you think I’m spending the weekend with a madman, then you’re... you’re...” his thoughts were in a jumble as he stuttered for the right words to say.

“Crazy, I know.” Yunho finished for him in an amused tone. “I guess I am a little mad, huh?” He had that pensive look on his face as he continued, “But whose fault do you think is that? You made me who I am now.”

“And as I recall,” his lips quirked upwards forming that sinfully handsome smile. He threw a quick look at Jaejoong then said, “You drove this madman to fall in love with you. Guess you'll just have to live with that.”

Jaejoong’s mouth dropped open, looking like a blowfish gasping for water. He swore he felt the coldness inside him warmed up a little. It was happening again “Just... take me back," he strongly insisted. He had to get out of this situation in order to keep what sanity he had left.

"I mean it Yunho,” he was desperate. “Stop this car right now."

"I will, baby.” Yunho pressed on the gas, gaining more speed. “But not until we get there."

It was useless. Finally accepting that he had lost this round, Jaejoong thought it was best to save his breath and just ignore Yunho the entire ride. Despite the other trying to engage him in a conversation, he remained like a soulless participant.

“Jaejoongie...” Yunho’s lower lip jutted out.

“Don’t talk to me,” Jaejoong muttered stubbornly. Although that look always messed with his thinking, he tried not to let that annoying pout get to him.

“Fine,” Yunho huffed. “Get some sleep. It’s going to be a long drive.”

With the slow song playing on the background along with the tense silence in the car, Jaejoong’s eyes started to droop and eventually drifted into sleep.

***

They reached Gyeongju after a 4-hour drive. Yoochun’s townhouse was situated in a beautiful country side with an incredible panoramic view of its outlying areas. Yunho pulled up in front of the modern two-storey white house, admiring the scenic place and thought it perfect for this weekend with Jaejoong.

Yunho looked at the sleeping man next to him. He loved watching him sleep. Jaejoong’s head was propped against the window, chin slumped to his chest. Yunho thought he looked adorable. If he could freeze that moment, he would. Eyes instantly brightening up when an idea struck him, he quickly took out his phone with a quiet grin. He couldn’t freeze time, yes... but he could take a photo.

When he was done admiring the new addition to his gallery collection, he lifted a finger, lightly poking Jaejoong’s cheek.

“Wake up.” He whispered.

All he got as a response was an incoherent mumbling, and those red lips looking even more succulent as he grumbled in his sleep. Yunho mustered a deep breath, willing himself not to tackle Jaejoong in this vulnerable state.

“Jaejoongie?” Yunho bent over until he was gently brushing their nose together. He then lightly pressed a chaste kiss, smiling against Jaejoong’s lips before digging his teeth into that plump lower lip. He bit just hard enough to jerk the man awake.

Jaejoong yelped. He lurched forward looking completely frazzled. “What was that?!”

“You got stung by a bee.” Yunho sat up with a straight face. “Come on, let’s go inside,” he said stepping out of the vehicle.

“A bee?!” Jaejoong frantically searched for the non-existent bee, wide eyes still drunk with sleep. He immediately jumped out of the car, a hand over his mouth. "Ohno, mmai lipseugonna getsswollen!"

“It’s alright, Jaejoongie. ” Yunho grinned, crossing his arms as he rested them on the car roof. He had that playful grin watching the man on the passenger side and then carried on with his fancy tale. “I squashed that stupid bee for trying to steal a kiss from you.”

Jaejoong scowled finally seeing through Yunho. Only then he became aware of how stupid he was being. “You bit me!” he snarled, an accusatory look on his face.

“I don't know what you're talking about,” Yunho’s mouth parted in mock innocence. He propped his chin against his palm as he pulled a face. “How about I kiss that boo-boo better?"

That was it. "You fucker!" Jaejoong's irritation level rose up that he wanted to just tackle Yunho to the ground and give him a good beating. He was seeing red, eyes screaming bloody murder.

“Yah, where are you going?” Yunho yelled going after Jaejoong's retreating figure. The blonde was stomping towards the darkness, kicking innocent rubbles along his way as he cursed Yunho to hell.

"Where else do you think, genius?” Jaejoong snapped back. “I’m not going to stay here and let you make a fool of me as you please. I'm taking a cab home!"

"That's ridiculous," Yunho called after him. "The main road is miles away from here." He rubbed his arms, shivering as it was a few degrees colder up north. "Come on, it's late. We shouldn't be out here. It’s freezing!"

But his begging fell on deaf ears. Yunho grunted in exasperation for having to deal with another bout of Jaejoong’s stubbornness. He checked his watch. It was already past midnight. "You'll only tire yourself." Yunho convinced.

Jaejoong wasn’t in the mood to talk. He just kept on walking away from Yunho, clearly blowing off steam.

“You’re so stubborn!” Yunho was getting tired of walking. "Fine, come back when you're done acting like a 5-year-old. And just so you know,” he yelled a little louder so Jaejoong would properly hear his very intimidating remark. “Don’t bother screaming for help if some ghost tries to eat you! I MEAN IT!"

Yunho could only glare in return when all Jaejoong did, without even bothering to look back, was flick his middle finger in the air as he continued to walk further.

***

“Calling me a 5-year-old when he’s the one childish enough to start spouting about ghosts!” Jaejoong snorted. He whipped out his phone hoping to call a cab or Yoochun, but it was one of those days where everything didn’t go well for him.

“No bars?!” Jaejoong screeched in mental suffering. “Are you kidding me?!” his voice echoed, birds chirping as they flew away in fright.

But Jaejoong wasn’t one to back down easily. So he went on with his trek, ignoring the fact that he was alone with just the moon’s blueish glow serving as the only source of light. There was still no sign of cars or life for that matter, it was just a long stretch of an open road surrounded by trees... and dirt. His nose scrunched seeing his expensive shoes getting muddy.

He’s reached 15 minutes into his walking when a sign of hope crossed his face; a lone red phonebooth appeared in view as if waiting for him.

“HA!” he exclaimed in glee then started running towards it. Too overwhelmed with excitement, he didn’t take notice of the slippery road and lost his footing. He slipped landing painfully on his butt.

“Damn it.” He pulled himself up, wincing in pain when he tried to use his left foot to support his weight. He leaned his body against the cubicle as he wobbled inside the narrow space, but to his dismay, the stupid phone wasn’t even working. The phone line was dead.

He was tired, and freezing. It felt like he’d been sitting there for ages when he heard shuffling in the distance. He stiffened, not really wanting to entertain the thought of ghosts at this late hour.

“Jaejoong!”

He looked up and saw Yunho running towards his direction. Jaejoong didn’t want to admit but he was relieved to see him. It was better to see Yunho’s annoying face than anything paranormal.

"Here, put this on. You must be freezing.” Yunho carried an extra fluffy jacket for him. He helped Jaejoong to his feet, brows furrowing in worry when he noticed him cringed in discomfort.

“Are you alright?” the taller man asked. Jaejoong had his back against the booth while Yunho stood in front, looking at him with concern. He had one hand around Jaejoong’s waist to keep him on his feet. “I didn't think you'd be so stupid to take off like that," he lectured.

Reaching his final point, Jaejoong’s lips began to quiver. "Don't call me stupid," he countered back. He hated that he looked weak and that he had to depend on this brute to take him back.

Yunho smiled affectionately, kissing him on the forehead "I know you're not. I’m sorry." He cupped Jaejoong’s cheek, encouraging the other to tell him what’s wrong. "Where does it hurt?”

“I twisted my ankle,” he mumbled, wiping his reddening nose. But refusing to appear too helpless, he assured Yunho that he can walk.

“No, you can’t risk hurting that ankle even more.” Yunho crouched down, offering his back to him. “Hop on, I'll carry you."

“Or you can go get the car,” Jaejoong tiredly suggested.

Yunho looked up at Jaejoong looking like he was in no mood to bicker about this. “Or... we stop arguing and you just let me give you a piggyback ride. How about that?”

Jaejoong hesitated for a short moment but his foot was starting to feel quite painful. He nodded and did what he was told for once. Yunho hid a smile when he felt Jaejoong's arms tentatively wound around his neck. "Did you wait long?" he said.

"It wouldn’t bother me even if you didn't show up," Jaejoong mumbled. His breath was tickling Yunho’s neck as he spoke.

Yunho turned his head to the side, kissing Jaejoong's hand that kept brushing along his jaw as he moved. "You know I'll always come back for you no matter what it takes."

"What do I care," Jaejoong whispered. But as he said it, his arms around Yunho's neck unconsciously tightened, leaning his face further into the man's back. Yunho hummed in reply, the corner of his lips turning upward. Despite everything, they still understood each other.

“Do you wanna know a secret?”

Jaejoong whispered sleepily, “not interested.”

“I’ll tell you anyway,” he chuckled a little. “That night we separated, I was shattered to the point that every time I closed my eyes, I saw you. And being the crazy man that I am, I snuck into your apartment and watched you sleep to make sure you were okay.” Yunho let out another deep sigh. "It broke me when I had to leave."

“I wanted to just stay right there, to kiss you and hold you next to me, but I know I needed to give myself time to figure things out.” And then to Jaejoong’s surprise, Yunho started humming a familiar melody.

“That’s...” Jaejoong’s body tensed, eyes starting to sting. It was his song. As Yunho continued making that beautiful sound, he allowed his eyes to close... letting Yunho’s soothing voice send a wave of calmness through him.

“Why’d you stop?” he murmured.

“I don’t know how the rest goes,” Yunho uttered sounding dejected. “It only plays through the first half, then just skips right back to the beginning. I’m sorry I messed it up,” He tried his best to save the disc, but water must have sipped through the casing and damaged it.

“See, that’s why I’m trying so hard. Other than the fact that I love you,” he stated matter of factly. “I thought that if I wanted to hear the rest of it... the rest of how happy you felt when we were together,” he grinned. “Then it’s only right that I work my ass off into making you mine again so you could sing the whole song to me.”

A/N:

If you can’t remember what Yunho’s referring to in that last bit, please re-read chapter 16. :) I wasn’t going to bring it up until the next chapter or two, but the situation called for it. I loved the idea of Yunho humming a song to Jaejoong as he carried him back. And of course, I just had to include a little tribute to that famous YUNJAE scene in Dangerous Love. :) <3 PLEASE LOOK FORWARD TO MORE YUNJAE-NESS IN THE FOLLOWING CHAPTERS.

AGAIN THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ALWAYS LEAVES ME A COMMENT. I APPRECIATE IT.
