Hey guys,
So it looks like my Monday postings are moving to Tuesday. Not officially of course but just in case i forget to post Monday - which has been happening - i'll definately post on Tuesday so you can keep an eye out for that day too. It's not official but as far as i can tell there are only ten chapters left so things are going to start moving along pretty quickly, so hold on for the ride. =)
Title: All American Boy. (When I made up this title, it was a joke because Nikki kept hassling me for one, so I told her this, and well it stuck)
Pairing: Arok
Rating: NC-17 (overall)
Disclaimer: I do not own/know AJ or Brian
Author’s note: I was sitting in class (I can‘t remember which one) and this story idea popped into my head, I started writing and this is what was produced. (it‘s what happens when you‘re bored out of your mind sitting in a class you don‘t want to be in) Oh and this story is written in different POVs . It alternates between Brian and AJ. They’re separated by the line of dots.
Chapter Summary: The boys both recap the weekend to Howie and Nick. They finally come to a decision and both make some promises to their respective friends.
(Chapter Twenty-Nine)
“Hey Bri.” Nick greets as he slides up and throws his arm over Brian’s shoulders Monday morning. “So, how did your weekend alone with AJ go?” Nick asks with a grin.
“Oh, you mean the one you interrupted?” Brian asks returning the grin.
“Well if you would‘ve told me that you guys wanted to be alone this weekend I would‘ve made myself scarce.” Nick points out.
“I didn‘t tell you because we weren‘t trying to be alone.” Brian points out, shaking his head at his friend. “We decided to work through the weekend. It was a spur of the moment thing. It‘s not like we planned it.” Brian shrugs.
“But you sure didn‘t object to it either.” Nick says with a smirk on his face.
“Shut up.” Brian says with a laugh as he pushes at Nick.
“So you‘re not denying it. Are you actually admitting that you have a thing for AJ and you wanted to be alone with him this weekend?” Nick asks, a small playful yet somewhat hopeful smile on his lips.
“Yes dude. I wanted to be alone with him.” Brian relents, smirking at Nick’s shocked face.
“Whoa dude. I didn‘t expect you to agree.” Nick says, still in shock. “So this is it then? You‘re actually going to do something about it?” Nick asks, looking at Brian.
Brian’s never seen a more confused/serious/hopeful/shocked look on Nick’s face before and it takes all of him not to bust up laughing. “Yes Nick, I‘m gonna do something about it.” Brian answers with a nod of his head.
“When?” Nick asks eagerly.
“As soon as this project is over with.” Brian answers with a slight nod.
“When did you decide this?” Nick asks curiously, leaning against his locker to hear Brian’s explanation.
“Last night.” Brian answers.
“Last night?” Nick asks, eyebrow raised.
“Yeah, yesterday I was at AJ‘s house and we had finished up with the second movie and book and we started watching TV. He was acting a little out of it. Like he was thinking about something and he kept glancing over at me. I was laying right next to him but he didn‘t know I had noticed what he was doing until I told him to stop thinking so hard.” Brian says looking at Nick. Nick just nods and Brian continues. “He said sorry and then asked how I knew he was thinking about something and I told him that he just did this thing where he got really quiet and his brow would crease a little and he would have this look on his face and that’s how I would know he was thinking about something or arguing with himself. He just looked at me and laughed a little and we went back to watching the movie after a few moments. But before he looked away he gave me this look. I don’t know what it really was and I don’t think he knew he did it but there was just something in his eyes and I just knew that there was something between us and that he felt it too.” Brian pauses, collecting his thoughts. “I know he probably thinks that this is all just me being friendly, and I know he wants to finish this project so I decided to wait till the project was over with and then go for it. There’s nothing I can really lose. I mean I hope it turns into something but if it doesn’t then hopefully we can be friends because I really do like hanging out with him.” Brian finishes looking at Nick. There’s an unreadable look on Nick’s face and Brian falters a little. “I’m not crazy right, there is something there, right?”
Nick breaks into a grin. “Yeah dude. What the hell do you think we’ve all been telling you? Of course it’s there. It fucking took you long enough to figure it out.” Nick says clapping Brian on the shoulder, smiling at him.
Brian sighs in relief and chuckles. “Yeah, yeah, I know.”
“So you’re definitely doing it then?” Nick asks, getting a little serious again.
“Yeah. I’m doing it.” Brian nods, his voice just as serious.
Nick smiles. “Good.”

“So how did your weekend with Brian go?” Howie asks as AJ walks up to him.
“It went really good. We got a lot done. We only have one more book left.” AJ answers with a smile. He really liked spending the whole weekend with Brian. It had been fun being around the other boy along with a little nerve wrecking. His feelings must have shown on his face though because Howie looks at him a little strange.
“What happened?” Howie asks. “You got that look on your face?”
AJ looks at Howie. Did he really have a look and did everyone know it? He finds himself voicing his thoughts. “How the hell does everyone know when I’m thinking about something and what the hell is this look?
“It’s just this thing you do. You’re an open book Jay and I’ve known you forever. I know all your looks so what’s up?” Howie asks leaning against his locker and looking at AJ expectantly.
“I don’t know if I can do this.” AJ sighs, running a hand through his hair.
“What do you mean? I thought you just said everything was good? I thought you liked him?” Howie asks confused.
“I do. And that’s the problem. I like him. A lot.” AJ nods.
“Okay….” Howie nods slowly and then shakes his head. “Okay, no, I’m not seeing the problem.”
AJ sighs. “I like him Howie. Like I really, really like him. And this whole waiting thing is getting really fucking hard.” AJ says, his frustration showing in his voice.
“Jay, really? That’s what you’re upset about? The waiting?” Howie asks with a laugh and then stops when AJ glares at him. “I’m sorry, but Aje, you’re the one who wanted to wait remember?”
“I know.” AJ sighs.
“Well then if it’s giving you this much crap why don’t you just go for it?” Howie asks.
“Because. I have to.” AJ answers and Howie looks at him, waiting for an explanation. “I don’t know why Howie. I just have to wait till this project is over and then I can make a move. I just- I don’t want the project to be the only reason we’re hanging out so much.” AJ answers. “I have to know that once this thing is over, that he’s not just gonna drop me.”
“AJ, I don’t think he’s like that.” Howie says. “He has no reason to be hanging out with you or helping you for that matter but he is.”
“Exactly. He has no reason.” AJ nods. “ I don’t want this to be some weird pity thing. That’s why I wanna wait and see where this thing goes. If it goes anywhere.” AJ says.
“So after the project then?” Howie asks, making sure.
“Yes, after the project I’ll make a move. I promise.”
“Okay.” Howie nods, a small smile on his face. “Just as long as it happens.” AJ laughs and smiles and nods his head as Howie gives him a hug and tugs him towards class as the bell rings.
