maybe i'm becoming jaded in my old age, but this whole
gap child labor issue doesn't feel like earth-shattering news to me. i mean, of course it's a huge deal. children should NEVER be put to work, especially in conditions like those. but don't almost all retail corporations employ child labor/sweatshops in some way or another? and if they don't, they're not eco-friendly, or they test their products on animals, etc. child labor is an issue that needs to be addressed globally. i suppose tackling one [giant] instance of it is a good thing. but why not call out
everyone who uses child labor?
the company using child labor in this case wasn't the gap--it was a company they outsourced to, and supposedly they were unaware of the practice and now that they're in the know, they've stopped doing business with this company. i don't know if this is true. if it isn't true, then let's shut 'em down. if it is true, then i guess i can feel not completely shitty about wearing my Product (RED) sweaters.
by the way, i really like
this article.
