sitting in the art building, listening to sentimental music, occasionally staring at my boyfriend's back as he is busy studying classical chinese and then pouring over his thesis, i feel rediculously content with life even though i probably wont be sleeping the next two nights in a row due to morphosyntactic typology.
with two weeks left in the semester things are going really well: i have come into my own as far as the linguistics world is concerned, now that my morphosyn class is almost over, i have realized that i CAN be a linguistics major after all, and have even come to appreciate formal linguistics (grammar, grammar, grammar). also, i am slowly but surely becoming very fluent in Spanish which is incredibly exciting for me as I will be spending half the summer in Ecuador with Ayuda Directa (a grass-roots sustainability iniciative). and on top of all of the academic success, i have also fallen hard for a boy full of joy and excitement... but you'll have to ask me about him in person because i would go on and on about him. i have also acquired a new lease on life physically, running two miles everyday (except on the days that i have rugby practice or a game) during which i probably run two miles anyway. Rugby is amazing, I love it even when the girls on the opposing team decide to play dirty and kick and/or step on heads and hands with metal cleets (ouch!)
AND I am super, super excited to head home for the first time since the summer on wed. to see my family and friends.
ughhh ok, back to work. procrastination gets me nowhere.
