[Do'h me, I was a little TOO in character by posting it to the wrong place DAMMIT LAURICE XD]

GENERAL
[Name:] Larry Butz, also occasionally goes by Laurice Deauxnim (how do you even pronounce that [Age:] About 33, correct me if my math sucks
[Gender:] Male
[Marital Status:] Single on and off
[Sexuality:] Straighter than a rainbo plank.
[Occupation:] Painter extraordinaire (plus odd jobs here and there to pay the bills)

CONNECTIONS
[Family:]
Mrs. Butz was a housewife; strict, easily cross, and prone to yelling while vengefully waving a spatula about. At the same time, however, she was a doting mother who called Larry every weekend when he newly got kicked out moved out to live on his own. Larry thinks his mom is a killjoy old lady, but he loves her deep down. She has a hearty, jolly laugh, and very likely knows Phoenix's mom. She and Larry don't talk much anymore after she found out about Larry following a girl to Tibet (and not even managing to bring her home to meet mama, that useless boy!)

Larry doesn't really talk about his other family members.
*if this offends canon i can chaaange*

[Friends:]
Phoenix Wright: Larry is the one (if memory serves correctly) who dubbed Nick... well, "Nick". They've been friends ever since a fourth grade class trial in which he stood up for Nick when Nick was accused of stealing a classmate's lunch money. In actuality Larry was the one who took the money, and what good resided in him (may have) felt sympathy for the poor kid, and maybe even slight guilt... Nick is one of the few people who still use the popular saying from their schooldays: "When something smells... it's usually the Butz."
Presently, Larry considers Nick to be a buddy of his--although Larry isn't a good enough friend to ever pay Nick back for defending him when he was accused of murder. Nor a good enough friend to take the blame for stealing the lunch money until about a decade later. Nor a good enough friend to remember any of the aforementioned. (Nor a good enough friend to refrain from being jealous of Nick for "always being surrounded by beautiful women".) ...Okay, Larry's not a very good friend to Nick even if he does stick by the guy. But duuude, he'd be totally willing to make sacrifices for Nick if he really needed to...! So long as there are no models or hot babes within the vicinity.

Miles Edgeworth: The fourth grade class trial victim: Larry calls him Edgey and is likely the only one who does so (besides Oldbag, but Larry coined the name first so hah). Larry joined Edgeworth in standing up for Nick, and the three were best friends for the rest of the school year. Then Edgeworth left, leaving Larry and Nick alone together.
Years later, Edgeworth becomes accused of murder (gosh, all three of these guys have horrible luck when it comes to being framed, huh). Nick mentions this to Larry, so Larry shows up at court to watch the trial. Right when Edgeworth was about to be declared guilty, Larry objected at the last minute and threw off von Karma's perfect plan. Larry almost seems to like Miles more than he likes Nick, but maybe because Miles is more prone to ignore him, so thusly Larry has to work harder to gain his buddy's attention. Larry thinks Edgeworth is a workaholic... which he is.

Wendy Oldbag: Larry's bossy superior from back when Larry worked at KB Security. Larry ran small errands for her and might still do so should he encounter her again, for old time's sake. He respects her more than he respects his lawyer, at least. One has to wonder what would happen should Wendy find out about Larry's "friendship" with Edgeworth...

Pearl Fey: They moped around with one another during the Bridge to Turnabout case, both individuals feeling miserable for being failures. Pearl failed at channeling a spirit while Larry failed at life and failed at making Pearl feel better. In fact, he made things worse with his usual exaggerative manner. Larry meant well, however, and thinks Pearl is an adorable, good kid.

Maya Fey: As she always followed Phoenix around, Larry flirts with her on every opportunity. He considers both her and her sister to be gorgeous babes, but he doesn't really know all that much about her... Like Pearl, Larry presumes that Maya and Nick are a couple. (It seems he has yet to come up with the notion that, by going out with Maya, Phoenix would be cheating on Iris--or vice-versa.)

Franziska von Karma(??): Franzy, Larry's star! Well, at least Larry wants her to be. Her whipping inspires him to draw pictures of her, and he hopes to make a grandly successful picture book called Franzy’s Whip Lash Splash. She's not very agreeable about it though. In fact, she whips him even more, but apparently Larry is a masochist.

Mia Fey: Larry still doesn't seem to know that she is a deceased woman, and compliments her to Nick when she is brought up. Though she only advised Nick in Cindy Stone's murder trial, Larry gives all credit of the victory to her (and even gave her a little present that he made himself).

Dick Gumshoe: The cop from the burning bridge case. Larry won't remember much of him, but he'd recognize him... Larry sees him as a fellow fellow-whose-luck-isn't-so-great, and thusly pities him somewhat.

Elise Deauxnim: Author of the "book of destiny" ("The Magic Bottle"), his mentor... now deceased. Larry greatly admired Elise and loved her like he would love an endearing aunt. She helped inspire him to change his life and start his career as an artist.

Iris: Larry cares shallowly for this girl, envying Nick for his bond with her. Still, he cared enough to call Edgeworth to force him back into the country and help convince the man to defend her (even if he did "blackmail" her... he didn't mean to..!).

Desirée DeLight: Another one of shallow Larry's beloveds, though this one is married.

Trucy Wright: Larry thinks Nick literally got someone knocked up with Tru. Nick didn't deny it... Larry sees Trucy, however, the same way he sees Pearl.

Bikini: She reminds Larry of his mom. Either that, or he just said that because he had planned on making her his mother-in-law. Likely, it's a bit of both.

[ENEMIES:]
Frank Sahwit: Framed him for murder! And killed his poor, beloved Cindy-sugarbooger while he was at it. Can't see Larry ever forgiving this guy, or forgetting his face. Larry doesn't think of him often, but it likely won't be too hard to remind him. Larry doesn't know he's dead...

Ron DeLight(?): Ron won't be very happy if he found out that Larry has a thing for his wife. Larry won't be very happy if met the hot babe's husband. Or maybe he'll just continue flirting with Dessie right in front of Ron.
*****(note to Ron player: this can change according to what you think XD)

[Other:]
Winston Paine: Larry doesn't even remember him anymore.

CHARACTER

[General personality:]

Larry loves chicks, babes, models, hot girls, shy girls, girls with notepads, girls with whips, beauty marks, long haired girls, short haired girls, and talking about "the good old days" when he was in school with Edgey and Nick. After a certain incident, Larry grew to dislike dogs.

Larry is good at tuning out noises that don't matter much to him, motivating people, crying, nagging others, and whining; but fails at motivating himself, respects and loves women to the point that he's blind to how much they may use him, is blind to womens' lack of interest in him, and fails at most other things. Larry is good at being in denial, at times vehemently refusing what is plainly obvious to everyone else. He's also fiercely loyal to his close friends, albeit not very dependable or considerate. (He WILL forget your birthday.)

He enjoys passing the time by chasing skirts and other artistic things, such as making statues and paintings. As of late, he's been focusing more on doing art-related projects, though he's still a lazy bum. He tends to exaggerate more than necessary, especially when excited or upset, and is prone to jumping to conclusions without thinking things through. It's a little difficult to get him interested in things that don't involve models or truly serious things (like people dying), as he just doesn't often care. He covers this up by claiming to be a victim of short-term memory. When reality really disagrees with him, he normally runs away to Larryland the fantasyland--a blissful place where he can be ignorant of the world around him--more out of habit than on purpose. He's also flighty, irresponsible, and lazy.

[Appearance:]
Appearance-wise, Larry hasn't changed much at all--dashing as usual, ladies! Though he has changed clothing several times (and whoever doesn't must be stinky!!) His goatee remains unshaved and his hair remains spiked upwards. Recently, he's been wearing his cutely ribboned artist sweater more often (can't get paint on the precious orange jacket, no no).

[Background:]
Larry was never rich, but he always bought gifts for pretty girls. As a (sweet and innocent) child, this would earn him a smack on the parietal lobe from his mother for "wasting money". Still, he insisted on buying (or taking what he deems to be 'lost') pencils, chocolate and ribbons for and chasing the skirts of the more good-looking "babes". Around first or second grade, he got rejected by a girl he truly liked (because she didn't like how he had pursued so many other girls in the class before her), and it was then (during his three day heartbroken sob-fest) that Larryland was invented. The more his mother nagged him to study, the more he escaped to his fantasyland, the more he became irresponsible, and the more he began failing everything and attending summer school.

This didn't bother Larry, however (he DOES have a fantasyland of his very own in the safety of his head), and he remained this way to this very day. He didn't even mind the fact that he only had a couple of friends who would only come over once or twice a year, always making excuses not to show up (and didn't seem to like Larry coming over without notice). Then the fourth grade trial rolled along, and for the first time in his life Larry had real "best friends". This helped him escape to Larryland just a little less, bringing up his grades slightly (also with the help of copying Edgeworth's notes and peeking at Nick's test answers).

Then Edgeworth left, and he remained buddies with Nick throughout highschool until he dropped out during his junior year. Larry tried once to write a letter to Edgeworth, but it was full of mistakes and didn't have a returning address (and his signature was so scribbled that it was hard to tell what it said, although Edgeworth might have been able to guess anyway). Due to laziness (and brokenheartedness since Edgey didn't write back :( ) Larry didn't try again--until he met a certain priestess, but that's later on. Instead, he occasionally called Nick at college, nagging him to hang out, while rarely inquiring whether or not Nick's heard from their other friend. Larry didn't call Nick much while Nick was going out with Dahlia. Not only was he jealous, but he also was busy trying to get by (as by that time his mother had kicked him out for wasting money by following a girl to Tibet).

They slowly grew apart, until one day Nick phoned him about finally, successfully becoming a newbie lawyer (to badge-flash Larry). They began keeping in touch again, but this apparently jinxed Larry, for he was soon convicted of murder just as he was getting into sculpting. With the help of Larryland, Larry was able to avoid being too traumatized about his girlfriend passing away. Despite this, he would still be just slightly saddened on the inside whenever he remembers his Cindy-Mindy.

Time passed by more quickly after that. Before he knew it, he was dating a gal who convinced him to run a hotdog stand (ruined thanks to a stray Missile that cannibalistically attacked his dogs) before she ran off to somewhere else on the planet. However, during this fling (and a murder trial), he met an old friend (whom he "helped defend" in court, so this old friend owes him!).

Then came the Kane Bullard case, in which security guard!Larry proclaimed himself a changed man... and to an extent, he did try to change, but he found it to be too difficult and gave up after a while, then got laid off/fired and borrowed a penlight from his company.

When the "Bridge to Turnabout" case rolled along, Larry once more was trying to change with the help of Elise, his inspiration and his mentor. At first he didn't want to go with her to the Hazakura temple (it was cold!! and likely smelled of incense) but then he saw a photograph of Iris and.... let's just say that the "changing" was pushed aside due to this distraction. He found a distraction from his distraction, however, in Franziska von Karma; she inspired him to draw a children's book of sorts starring her. Currently he is seeking her permission to publish it. As it's been practically a decade of her denying him that right, Larry has to find other means of earning money to support himself.**** (Franziska player babeh, tell me if this won't work for you somehow. XD)

When Larry isn't job hunting, working at construction sites, restaurants, supermarkets, or festival stands (etc), he's wandering around places where there are a lot of people, dragging around his easel and offering portraits to pretty ladies (and at times their boyfriends, much to Larry's disgruntlement).

In conclusion, he hasn't changed much at all. :T
