What becomes of the broken arm-ed?

For all those nursing a broken heart over christmas...at least you can't break your heart in two places!(unless you're playing the game of 'emo one-upmanship', which I've copyrighted)
But alas I have broken my arm in two places, and did so on christmas eve! While running up some stairs at work, during a shift I had changed, so wasn't sposed to be there at that time... They say things go in slow motion when something bad's about to happen, and it really did! So during my rather impressive fall I stuck out my left arm to take the weight, caught the step badly, and heard an almighty 'SNAP!' as I hit the floor... 'Oh fuck.' I believe was what I said...so I was sent out to get first aid, with my wrist drooping off the end of my arm.
'You'd know if it was broke' said my(clueless) manager...'Cos you'd be screaming.'
Well I don't do screaming then I guess! Long story short; Mother picked me up after some minor first aid, I spent over 4 hours in southmead with checks, x-rays and a temporary cast. Was told I had broken two bones in my wrist, and one was a displacement fracture, where the impact had caused the bone to break and overlap, making the wrist deformed. So then got sent to frenchay hospital where I had local anasthetic, heart monitors and general dis-comfort. The lovely doctors and nurses perfomed the 'straightening' proceedure on my arm(basically pulling it into place again) and put another cast over the now alligned bones, then x-rayed it again. So finally got home around 1.00am on christmas morning...high on all sorts of painkillers and very tired...so went to bed!
Christmas day was quite awkward at bandys house, but funny. Especicially watching all that home improvement on ABC! Then I went home and slept the rest of the day away...
Went to hospital on boxing day and got me a purple cast put on...which looks cool, at least!
Got another appointment at the fracture clinic on thursday, to see how the bones look, and to find out if I'm gonna need surgery or not...let's hope not! Ah well, at least I get off work for a while (including engagement parties and my birthday). They told me I'd be wearing a cast for 6-9 weeks! Eek. My fingers are now completely bruised and swollen...
Anyway...hope you all had great christmas's! You have no idea how long this took me to type with one hand...
