I made a culinary discovery today. I made a turkey and provolone panini using my Foreman grill. Sure, to some it may have appeared to be a glorified grilled cheese sammich but to me it was a culinary breakthrough. Warm and toasty with little grill marks on top, it loved me and I loved it back. I need more ideas for paninis. Typing that word reminds me of the word penis.
I made it to LA Fitness today, finally dragging my ass out there since I am paying for it. My company gets a really nice rate which my budget appreciates. Yaaay budget. Soon I will even put money into CDs but that's a whole other post about money and how expensive being an adult is. Bah.
Miami is cool. I'm not really in the heart of it since I'm only in the burbs but it is still good ol Miami. I'm adapting. It has its charms of course, people here are very open and willing to help. Being blond is a huge advantage as they're quite rare here and I've found that by being friendly and smiling people respond in kind. Sometimes it can get interesting, I've had appreciative comments made to me here that I hadn't expected (getting hit on at Marshall's and in the check-out at Walmart.. strange) so I just smile and try not to blush. I am already starting to love the cafecito (cuban coffee) again after quitting it after my internship here. If I drink too much it makes me feel anxious, like I have to get everything that ever needed doing done all at once. Hahaha. Driving here is pretty crazy. I won't even go into that.
It seems I'm always discovering something new. I'm getting along. I love my apartment lots, having a balcony and my own washer and dryer is nice. It's gated here so I feel safe.
I went to Key West a few weekends ago and partied on Duval Street. It was an absolute blast, so many cool people all having a damn good time. I got into some pretty crazy situations haha. The next morning I went to the waterfront and just sat there watching the waves hit the pier. So calm. The key lime pie is incredible. I can't wait to go back...
