On Trolls and Love
Troll romance is a disorientingly complicated subject, so I aim here today to make it a bit easier to understand!
Thhis is the basic idea. There are four kinds of troll love, split up by two different distinctions. Some definitions:
Red Romance: "Positive" love. People who like and enjoy each others' company.
Black Romance: "Negative" love. People united by bonds of passionate negative emotion.
Concupiscient: Love relating to the mating process.
Conciliatory: Love unrelated to the mating process.
In other words: Red Romance is positive, Black Romance is negative, Concupiscient is intimate, Conciliatory is platonic.
This brings is to the infamous four quadrants of love!
FLUSHED LOVE (Red/Concupiscient)
This is the kind of love most similar to what humans mean by the word. People who both really like each other, and are involved together in the crazy, complicated biology of the mating process. People in flushed love are said to be MATESPRITS of one another.
It should be noted that the troll mating process is not actually sex, but it is also extremely gross and involves buckets.

There is a common belief, among trolls and humans alike, of a "one true love." Trolls, however, have an equally strong fixation with a one true hate. This is a hatred so strong that it is a form of love in itself, a concept many humans find difficult to understand.
People in calignious love are said to be KISMESIS of one another.

PALE LOVE (Red/Conciliatory)
This is a sort of relationship similar to the human concept of soul mates, only more platonic. It involves two people, one of whom is more hot-tempered and unstable and the other of whom is more laid-back and reasonable. The more laid back one is the MOIRAIL of the other, and keeps them from posing a danger to those around them, or themselves. It is a relationship based on trust and reliance.

ASHEN LOVE (Black/Conciliatory)
Probably the most confusing of the four quadrants is ashen love, which involves a total of three people. When two people are locked in constant butting of heads and violence, to an extent which may develop into kismesis, a third will sometimes intervene and become the AUSPISTICE to the other two, mediating between them and bringing stability to their relationship.
