I no longer have a sore throat ... now it's a stuffy nose and slight headache that I'm suffering with, so i must pop in the chemists today and get some stuff for that.
This morning has been crazy. I was woken at 7.00am by a weird scratchy sound from inside the chimney which is just through the wall behind my head when I'm in bed. The sound was of a bird stuck in there. I thought fuck that shit and went back to sleep. I was too tired to care because I had sat up in bed reading The Last Human by Doug Naylor until 2.30am and then it took me a while to doze off.
Rewoke at 9.15 or something by my mum. I could still hear the stratching sound of the bird in the chimney, and so could she. My mum said we'll get it out later today if it hasn't gone by then. My mum went to work and I got impatient and moved my bed and pulled the wallpaper off and loosened the air vent, opened my window AFAP, then i pulled it away and quickly jumped into bed so that the bird wouldn't attack me or something. Nothing happened. I peeked through a gap from under my duvet and watched the open air vent. A few seconds later the bird's head peeped out...
I thought a photo would be nice :P You can see I had to rip lots of wallpaper away to open the blocked off airvent. That bit of wall is hidden by the head of my bed so no problem there.
The bird just stared at me for about 5 seconds, I freaked out and made a stupid noise to try and scare it. It scared it all right ... it started flying round my room, flapping it's wings like the tits of an epileptic Page Three girl. I thought it would fly around the room once or twice then fly out of my window, which I had opened widely especially. I hid in my bed for about 3 minutes while the bird flew around my room, flapping against my posters and knocking my paper work off my desk and on to the floor. I suddenly got the courage to do a runner. I looked for my cat ... couldn't find him. Thought about making the dog go after the bird but my dog usually just gets excited then pisses.
No sign of the bird now. Must have finally noticed that the window was open for it.
