Can we acknowledge the fact that I'm from southeast Texas and we are just not built for this kind of weather? We are almost like swamp people. We like mosquitoes and humidity.

LOL - welcome to the US 2010. The country has always had a paranoid streak a mile wild (for example,see Anti-Masonic Party in the 1800s), but having a black man with a weird name as prez has brought them out of the woodwork.
