Off day

Molly and I took today and tomorrow off to work on getting the house ready for tadpole. Today was a bit slow going, but we did manage to make some progress. We still have a lot to get through, and we probably won’t get it all done in just 4 days, but I’m hopeful we’ll get through the bulk of it, and develop a plan for the rest.

One of the issues right now is all the stuff that needs to be removed from the house as we sort it, but stopping to take care of it will slow us down too much. Though in some ways this is a secret weapon as it’ll make a big impact when it’s taken care of and shock our families I suspect.

We watched most of season two of babysitters’ club while we worked, and I watched most of season 2 of the Promised Neverland while Molly napped.

We got steak and shake for dinner. We invited my mom but she declined and accused (politely) us of checking up on her for my dad who was heading to Bedford for the weekend. Thing is we didn’t even know he was going. Dinner was good though.

I am worried about mom’s health. It’s something to do with her heart, her pulse keeps getting really low randomly, and she’s been feeling “weird” when it happens. Not sure if that means dizzy or light headed or what. She has to wear a heart monitor now, but they aren’t exactly sure what is wrong yet. I really hope it’s nothing, or just something minor, but it scares me. I don’t know whether I’m more scared by the fact she is openly telling me this stuff, or reassured by that fact. Years ago she had a cancer scare (I think I’ve mentioned that before), and didn’t tell anyone until after she had gotten confirmation that she was fine, including my dad!

After dinner (which we ate in the parking lot) we went to Walmart to get groceries. It was unmasked central there. Though it was interesting to note that almost all the people of color were masked, (aside from one young boy) and the Latino teens stocking shelves with their noses out. We made it as far as one of the two open checkout lines, before getting totally sketched out by the amount of maskless. We ducked out of line and ditched our cart, groceries and all. Then headed to Publix where I think I only saw one person without a mask.
