Gorillapods
Dude!
Anyone have experience with these? I've been looking at them for while over a year and have decided it's finally time to pick one up. But now, which one? Well crap. I'm stuck between the SLR and SLR-Zoom. Both are rated to handle my Nikon d40x, but they recommend the Zoom for heavier equipment. Not that I currently have any heavier equipment (ha!) but for the minimal size/weight difference, I prefer to make a longer term investment. My one and only hesitation is... the Zoom does not have a quick release clip. Unless you purchase a Ballhead with it and that's a little out of the price range currently.
So... CRAP. Is the quick release clip really a big enough thing to have it be major portion of the decision? How annoying will it be to have to completely unscrew the tripod when I want to snap a few without the tripod?
