Name three things that you're looking forward to in the near future and why.
One: May 18th, and the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra's 50th anniversary evening.
Why I'm looking forward to it: Yo-Yo Ma. What's not to look forward to regarding several hours of God's own fucking gift to contemporary cello?
Oh, and they'll be playing Dvořák. My massive amount of Czech cultural pride will get to raise its head and pretend it actually exists for a bit.
Two: On a less Euro-centric note, an old friend has invited me to hear some guitarist from Mali play tonight. "Habib Koite," if I'm not misspelling that. The music is highly recommended to me by the individual asking me along.
That being said, I am more looking forward to the company of the individual asking me along than I am to the actual music. Charles bears a striking resemblance to James Earl Jones, circa the 1970s, and is in possession of (as he puts it) "a finely-honed sense of the erotic" as well as (as I put it) "a big fucking cock."
I expect to get some.
