funny thing about Salmon Fishing In The Yemen, it wasn't the love story i was sold on (in fact, i think that was the film's weak point yet the delivery was somewhat acceptable).
the truth is, just getting an impossible project off the ground where everyone is convinced you would fail and then to actually see it work is just so satisfying. that extraordinary feeling of accomplishment and getting previous critics on your side along the way is simply the most exhilarating thing in the world.
the film for me really isn't so much about the romance between two characters but more of the triumph of the human spirit in defying the odds.
PS: Kristin Scott Thomas is one unrivaled thesp.
