If you want to know exactly what I did over break here is my journal. I will post my pictures on facebook later on.

Saturday March 11, 2006

This morning I arrived at the London airport. While on the plane someone stole my ipod. What a wonderful way to start my trip eh? There was a huge line for customs so by the time I got to the gate the plane had already left. I started to freak out because I didn’t know what to do. I asked a woman what I could do and she told me that the next flight to Stuttgart was the next morning, but to go to American Airlines to double check. I was about to cry. Luckily there was a flight leaving London to Frankfurt to Stuttgart in 45 minutes. The only worry was that they couldn’t put my luggage on the plane in time. However, I was lucky and I was able to get onto that flight. I don’t like London airport. I was so confused on where to go. I looked like a goose with its head chopped off. After all that I was kind of frustrated and not a happy camper when I arrived to my destination I was very happy to see Matt there. One of his German friends had driven him to the airport along with Matt’s best friend a Dennis. From the airport we went to the mall area because Dennis had to pick up a computer screen. We then went to a small castle and walked around. Shortly after we went back to campus and chilled for a bit. One of his friends, Mirjiana, was going to cook dinner for us and a bunch of their friends at her apartment. So we got ready and ate there and drank a little. Matt and I left early and were in bed by 10 because I had a long day and we were going to be awake at 6 in the morning the next day.

Sunday March 12, 2006

Today Matt and I woke up at 6 am so we could go onto a train at 7 30. On the weekends you could travel anywhere in Germany for 30 Euro, so we took advantage of that. We were on the train for a total of four hours. At one of the stops I got my first German pretzel and it was gooood. When we arrived at the train station we had to wait 20 minutes for the bus to arrive. We then arrived at our destination and walked around for a little bit. I got my souvenir spoon. We got our tickets and began to walk to the first castle. It was about a 10 minute walk up a hill. The castle was called the Schloss Hohenscwangau. We had a 30 minute tour and it was amazing. There was so much cool art work on the walls of the castle. They were painted right on the walls with tempera. After our tour we started our descent down the hill so we could get to the other castle.
The other castle is the main attraction. It is called the Neuschwanstein castle. It was the inspiration for the Cinderella castle in Disney world. We had to walk up over 200 stairs. The inside of the castle was covered in lavish brass and gold chandelers in shapes of crowns and tempra paintings on the walls and ceilings. I had a couple art orgasms. We couldn’t take pictures inside the building which was a bummer but I tried to take a picture discretly but screwed up because I forgot to turn off the flash and everyone looked at me. Luckily no one told on me so I just quickly put away my camera. Hehehehe. After the tour we walked down the huge hill that took us 30 minutes to walk up. We then waited for the bus to arrive for 40 minutes in the freezing cold. My feet were freakin cold I couldn’t stand it. We then took a train to Munich. Matt brought me to the Hofbraeu House which is a well known beer hall. It was amazing. I had my first liter of beer, yes I said liter. The glass was so big I couldn’t hold it with one hand. I also had my first true German meal. It was interesting. It tasted good but looked weird. There was a German band there and a lot of the guys were yelling, it was great! We took a 12 30 train back to Stuttgart and we didn’t arrive back to Matt’s apartment until 4. We just crashed because it was such a long day.

Monday March 13, 2006

We woke up at 2 today and Matt took me to downtown Stuttgart. I took some pictures and we just walked around. We met up with Matt’s best friend Dennis and went grocery shopping and I got tons of chocolate and some conditioner. We then got back to Matt’s apartment and his friend Marloe cooked up a really good dinner. She cooked a chicken dish with curry but since I don’t eat curry she made me a chicken dish with hollandaise sauce and peppers. It was wicked good. Matt had his friends over and we had dinner and talked for a while. Then shortly after we went to bed.

We woke up at 9 am today so we could catch an 11 o clock train to Baden-Baden. We arrived there around 1 o clock. Matt took me to the Caracalla Therme. It was amazing. We spent 16 Euro for 4 hours of relaxation. It was a huge bath house with different pools or different temperatures. There was an outside pool and several inside pools. There were also heat lamps and saunas you could go into. It was simply amazing. I wish I had pictures but we could take pictures inside for some reason. I am sure there are some on line. We took the train back to Stuttgart and Matt cooked us a tortellini dinner. We then showered and got ready to go out.
Matt took me to his favorite bar called Troll. It was cute but full of smoke. I met his German friends and they were all very nice. I didn’t really want to go out but I did because Matt wanted me to meet his friends. I couldn’t even finish a beer. It is amazing how much Germans drink and how fast they can drink that huge liter of beer. By the time I finished half of mine they had finished at least three. I don’t even think my stomach can hold three liters of beer! Anyway, the smoke was really bothering me (you can smoke practically anywhere in Germany) so we went home and ate some of the cookies that Matt got at a chocolate shop in Baden-Baden and went to bed so we could get ready for the next day ahead of us. This week is so long. I am so tired but I am having a blast.

Today we woke up at 2 and went into Stuttgart. I picked out a museum in Stuttgart to go to. It was a pretty decent size museum and Matt had never been to this particular museum before. It had a room dedicated to Picasso which was pretty cool to see. They had a lot of 17 and 18 century Italian art which was beautiful. Other artists they had was Andy Warhol, Matisse, Kandinsky, De Kooning, Pollack among others. I had my art fix of the day.
After the museum we went to Matt’s cell phone company’s store because while he was there a couple of days ago he played with one of the phones and called his phone with the phone in the store. Ever since then that phone in the store has been calling him and he couldn’t do anything about it. However, when we got to the store a stupid kid was playing with the phone with his number on it so we waited and he didn’t leave so we just left.
I was hungry so I had my first Doenner and it was nummy. A doenner is a bunch of shaved lamb in a pita with yogurt, and whatever you want in it. I had mine with lettuce, tomato, and onions. NUMMY!
After we ate we went shopping for shoes. One of Matt’s friends got a pair of cute shoes that I wanted. So we went to the store to get them but they didn’t have my size and I wasn’t sure if I wanted them. So I didn’t buy them. Maybe I will change my mind or maybe we will go shoe shopping some other time. I just want a pair of European sneakers.
We went back to the dorms and went over to his friend’s Dennis’s apartment to have dinner. We just got back and we are going to watch 50 First Dates and then go to bed. The original plan for tonight was to go out and drink. However, everyone is really tired so that plan was shot down which is good because I have had a headache for the past 4 days and I haven’t been in the mood to go out. Friday is St. Patty’s day so we are going to an Irish pub. I have to be on a 7 am flight on Saturday so I won’t be out for long that night. That is it for now.

Thursday March 16, 2006

Matt and I awoke at 12 and had breakfast in his apartment. We left his apartment and took the train to go see the TV tower in Stuttgart. It was the first TV tower built in the world and it was commissioned by Hitler which I thought was really cool. The view from up top was really nice; however it was cloudy so it wasn’t as nice as it could be. We had cappuccinos in the café in the tower and I got a Stuttgart spoon! After we left the tower Matt took me to Hauptbahnhof which is the main train station in Stuttgart. Inside of there we went to the top and saw another good view. On top of the building is a huge Mercedes symbol. Matt showed me what the plans for Stuttgart are and that was pretty cool to see. We then went shoe shopping. I wanted a pair of European shoes and I think we went to every single shoe store on that strip and there were a lot of those stores. I finally got a cute pair of shoes and I am happy about them. They are a size too big but they still fit and they only cost 30 euros. By the time we had finished shopping it was 6 pm so we stopped to get some dinner at a pizza place. We then went back to his dorm and we then waited for Dennis so we could go to a bar on campus. Tomorrow is my last full day in Germany and I am not sure what is planned yet.

Friday March 17, 2006

Today was my last day in Germany. Matt and I awoke at 11 and had lunch in his apartment with Dennis and watched Sex and the City. Around 3 o clock we went into town to go grocery shopping in search for corned beef. We found out that the corned beef in Germany isn’t the same kind as in the United States. We got alchohol for the night because it is St. Patty’s day. We got back and pre gamed with everyone and headed out for the night. So we grabbed out bottles of wine and what not and drank on the subway……and yes that is legal! When we got to the irish pub there was a huge line to get in so we said screw it and we found another bar. It was awseme. I had my first car bomb and my first jeger bomb. I got trashed. Around 11 we left to go to some “sexy party”. It was pretty lame but I got to hang out with Matt’s german friend named Evon. She kicks so much ass. I was really drunk, so drunk I couldn’t dance so Matt and I left around 1. We got back around 2 and had to wake up in 2 hours. I didn’t get much sleep that night.

Saturday March 18, 2006

We woke up at 4 30 this morning and left the apartment by 4 50. We thought there would be a 5 05 train but we were wrong. We had to wait till 5 30 for the first one. We got to the airport to check in and checked in in the wrong airline. OOpppps. Luckily the lines weren’t long so it wasn’t a big deal. We had time to kill and we were hungry so we had breakfast at burger king. I had a bagel and nutella! I have never seen a BK with bagels. I was slightly hungover so it didn’t sit well.
I will never transfer over in London Heathrow airport ever again. It is so big you have to take buses to the terminals. I almost missed my flight again. But luckily I got there in time. Coleman was suppose to pick me up at the airport, but as I figured he forgot. And it take over an hour to get to NY so I had to get a ride from CT limo. I didn’t get home until 3 30. I had to drive Coleman to the train station so he could go to NYC to meet up with some friends. I did some laundry and took a shower. I wanted to order Chinese but they all had a 15 or 20 minimun for delievery. So I just picked some Chinese food up. I watched the horrible movie Catwoman. It would have been a good movie but the graphics were horrible. But that is ok because it was free to watch. I went to bed rather early at 10. And tomorrow I go back to school. I can’t wait to see everyone.
I wonder how many people will read this far of my journal. If you made it this far…..GO YOU!
