1. How long have you been collecting Sailor Moon items?
Ummm... Crap, I can't remember. xD Probably for about 7-8 years, but I *really* started getting into it last year (2007). ^^;
2. How many items are in your collection?
I just went through my whole house and counted 360 items, not including 446 trading cards. @_@; I'm pretty sure I didn't miss anything. xD;
3. Do you keep your items in the box or are you a ‘de-boxer’?
I keep them in their boxes. =3 Unless it's a small figure. ^^
4. How do you display your collection?
It's pretty sporadic, yet organized. Please see the photos below. ^^; It's easier than trying to explain. xD
5. What was the first piece that started the whole thing?
Honestly, I think it was the Pocket Mixx Volume 3... I found it at a random comic shop at my dad's house. First toy was an Irwin Sailor Mars plushie. ^^
6. What is your favorite/most treasured/meaningful piece in your collection?
That's a tough question, and it probably is for everyone out there... I really love all my dolls, and what few RP toys I have.
7. What is your most desired collection piece that has yet to be acquired?
Lol, there are a lot, but to break it down a bit: Infinity (who doesn't want that one?) and all 3 Outer Henshin wands.
8. What is your favorite category (dolls, cels, etc) for collecting from and why?
At first it was gashapon/small figures, but since I've acquired 99.9% of the ones on my wish list, I've been aching for more dolls. *^^*
9. Is there any item/character that you wish had been made into a toy?
More villains in general! Particularly Mistress 9. ♥ Sailor Cosmos would have been nice, too. ^^
10. Where do/did you find most of the items in/for your collection?
Most of my stuff lately comes from shopping trips in Japan (close to home or otherwise), LJ, and YJA. eBay has died down from the Sailor Moon hype if you ask me, and what is left is way over priced.
11. What is the greatest length you have gone to for a particular item?
I flew to Tokyo to do some shopping. xD
12. What is the most expensive item in your collection?
We talking estimated value or actual price paid here? Lol. The Japanese Star Locket. Estimated value between $300 and $500. I paid $300, but I sold my European one to cover the whole cost of it. Thanks again jelenity! (I bought the Jap one from her. ♥)
13. What was the best bargain you've ever managed to get?
Selling a European Star Locket to cover the cost of my new Japanese Star Locket. Oh, and a Kaleido Moon Scope for 980yen. ^_^ Eternal Sailor Moon Beauty Change doll for 3000yen. Those are the top 3 that stand out in my mind.
14. How do you feel about bootlegs?
I don't like them... >_> They're usually ugly and of poor quality, and people use them to rip people off. Shame on you eBayers! You know who you are... *glare*
15. Do you have plans to sell your collection in the future?
Um... Right now, I say a very firm "no". I hope I never "have" to, and so long as it never comes to that, it will stay with me till the day I die. ♥ I hope to pass it onto my daughter when that time comes, if she loves it as much as I do.
16. Do any of the items in your collection have a neat story behind them?
Not really.
17. What do your friends/family think of your hobby?
Lol, my husband thinks it's a waste of money, of course, but then so would his collecting of Final Fantasy and Transformers. xD My parents don't really know persay, haha. I moved out a LOOOONG time ago. *^^* They haven't seen any of it in person, except the 3 models I sent to my mom for painting, lol.
18. Do you collect anything else, or just Sailor Moon related items?
I myself collect Utena, Shugo Chara, and a few other random anime. My husband and I jointly collect Final Fantasy and Ah! My Goddess, and he alone collects FMA and a few other random anime.
19. What do you think the lowest quality/least desired kind of Sailor moon item is?
Bootlegs? Haha... Um, actually, I think there are quite a few people who aren't very fond of the quality of the first gashapon (the ones with only 2 colors), and the DX gashapon also.
20. Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Um... No, not really. *^^* I'm open to answering more questions if you'll just comment with them. =D
