Tim finishes his beer and sets the empty on the nearest table, crosses his arms so he doesn't touch her, because fuck when did that become a thing he wants to do so damn much? "About what?" The look on her face is the saddest he's seen all night, and any thought he had that she might have told someone else about them is gone, 'cause no one else has a clue. "It's fine. You're gonna marry Matt, and that's the way things're supposed to work out. We don't need to talk about it."

He doesn't really believe it. At least not the part about things working out the way they're supposed to. He just doesn't believe that in general. There's no set plan for shit, it just happens and you go with it.

But either way she's gonna marry someone else, and maybe that's fine. Or it will be. He moves over to the bar, grabs another beer and flips the cap off, then he's in front of her again and she's looking at her feet, her left hand holding her right arm like she's always done, only now he's seeing the ring there for the first time ever. Feels like shit, and honestly he doesn't know when he got this far in with her.

"I told you I'd break your heart," she tells him quietly, and he doesn't think it's so out of place for him to wrap his arms around her right now, so that's what he does. He feels her tense a bit, then relax, then it's just like when he'd do this when they were alone somewhere together. It feels so fucking good that he takes a deep breath and lets it out again.

"Yeah, you did."

When she pulls away from him, he can tell she's wondering if he's telling her he remembers her saying it, or if she actually broke his heart.

She puts her hand on his stomach, looks straight up at him for a second and doesn't say another word before she walks away. He's never been good at letting people know when they've hurt him; he'll just let her figure it out for herself.
