at first I was morally apposed. it was wrong. only bad people who didn't know any better did it, but I was at home, with nothing to do, and so tired of the usual ( Read more... )

now that I give it more thought, it's not just novelty, but variety.

Consoles are dead to me. I really couldn't care less about any console game. so having something OTHER than FFXI is really appealing, especially on those night where people want to do X-event, like sky or some shit, where I'm not going to get anything, except maybe more XP loss, but I'm required to attend if I'm online.

Sky, Wotg NM nights, Einherjar, Salvage (though that's not mandatory), or my personal favourite "kill-a-big-HNM-that-doesn't-drop-shit-but-is-a-challenge-to-kill-anyways" (jorm, vytra, bahamut, etc.), are just a huge waste of time. And it's not just my shell, they are ALL like this, except you have that shells that don't do ANYTHING and then you have the shells that do EVERYTHING and have no problem kicking you right before your first real drop cause you're not a BEACON of team spirit.

There are a few people on FF that I really enjoy playing with, and chat with over vent and MSN a lot, and I have no problem helping them out with stuff they need but you are really the ONLY non-digital friend I have on FF and you're not even on the same fucking server.

For me it's the exact opposite. PC gaming is dead to me. You're the only non-Digital friend I have in FFXI right now :P As for events, I have a different shell for each event, so I pick and choose which events I want to do, and when I'm done with an event, I just stop going. However, I really am casual with FFXI, I only do two events at a time, and hell, I still don't have merits capped.

The only parts of FFXI I don't enjoy right now is drop rates on shit and being basically the last of my original friends in FFXI still playing.
