Day 4: Gattaca déjà vu

Jul 21, 2005 22:14

Things have been getting progressively better. It doesn't mean that I don't miss you all like crazy, because I definitely do.

Today, chemistry started, and thank goodness for that because hot damn, the chem department chair is sexxxxy, and he worked with us for our spectrometry lab. He's like the Osiecki of chemistry...except, much cuter. Nobody knew that we were doing chemistry today (apparently nobody understands what an itinerary is, but that's ok, shit happens). I went and searched for the others and found them at the room we've been at for the last 3 days. After that, we were still waiting on Reney, and he was on the phone outside. If you ever want me to talk to about Reney, a possible Jeff Schuele because there is no other explanation as to how he got into college with his lack of common sense, then let me know.

We worked with 70s style spectrometers...that was easy. Shaunda, Autumn, and I measured absorbance of Ni 2+ (aq) with the high-tech spectrometer too, that was fun. After transferring data over to the laptops, we e-mailed the data to the professor so he could put a big graph together. The rest of us just kind of went online, oops.

Lunch was ok after that, then we headed off to Snowden after some resting up in the rooms. We watched Gattaca for tomorrow's cloning/genetic reformation discussion. I already saw the movie in AP Bio last year, so I took a 10 minute nap, but then Grace woke me up. The couches in there are sooo comfortable. I might apply for housing there one day.

"You do everything you can, to get away from a place and when you finally get your chance to leave, you find a reason to stay." (Irene - Uma Thurman)

Autumn and Hema were gonna do laundry after that, so I gave them my pair of jeans and sweater hoodie to wash. I napped through dinner and woke up feeling kind of icky, but luckily not hungry. I read some more Harry Potter before talking to Phil and sleeping.

More on the rest of weeks coming up, probably tonight. :)
