bed drama

so.. after having my queen sized bed for over 10 years... i decided to give it up.  it was a rather sad mattress, only one coke stain on it, but it was severely flattened on one side cuz i'd always sleep curled up in one corner of it.  I never really took advantage of all that extra space, probably because i was freezing half the time in my parents house, and curling up into the fetus position was the only way i'd get to sleep.. i dont' even know why my parents got me a queen at so young of an age, especially since it took up 80% of my bedroom -__-

last december during moving the box spring fractured in various places. i tried tying the splintered wood back together with some leftover clothesline i had.. it seemed to work ok, tho on moving the damn thing the other day i also noted that one of the 2x4's supporting it had broken as well... i blame carlos since he likes to slam down on the bed a lot.
oh, this mattress for some reason is a freakish 3-4" shorter in width than a normal queen, meaning it did not fit into my frame, so i had to prop it up with three 2x4's.

yah, troubles all around. but it does not end there.

carlos and i stumbled into rc willey last labor day assuming there would be sales of some sort.  We plopped on various mattresses and bought the most comfy, regardless of a pricey tag. we think it is a good investment.

we walked out happy. we've been putting this off for a while, and i'm glad to have avoided extensive shopping around.

tho when they deliver the mattress last saturday, they are 1 hour later than they said they would be.  they rush in to set up our free frame, only to find out it is a KING sized frame. they are delivering the queen frame today.

once i finally relax on our new bed.. i am struck by the fact that I do not get that luxury spa feeling that i got when i was in the store.  you know that feeling when you bite into chocolate and get swept away into a land of ecstasy and clouds.. yah. nothing going. So i think that maybe it  just needs some time to warm up.  That night tho i kept waking up and my back was a little sore the next day, kinda like i had slept on the floor. oh well i think, maybe this is just getting used to a bed. it happens all the time.

fortunately tho, I got around to checking the tag on the mattress..only to realize they had delivered the FIRM pillow top mattress as opposed to the PLUSH pillow top. >:F!@#  so i call rcwilley to bitchfest and they are doing the switcheroo hopefully this week.

i feel like the princess and the pea.
