it has been a while since i last updated anything relevant...and this update won't be much. i'm glad i saw the people who came down here for the holidays and i can't wait to see everyone who'll be here in the coming weeks. hopefully we can all get together for jason's new years kegger. it should be at least sort of fun.
i'm unemployed again...its not even that i hate working so much as i hate constantly getting screwed over all the time. i'm tired of general managers promising me hours and raises and all that stuff and then reneging at every opportunity. it will eventually drive me totally insane and leave me completely unemployable.
at this point i'm just getting ready to take my finals and counting the days until january. i really need that school check. i also have to get started on my transfer or admission or whatever to a&m. higher education! yay!
our douchebag neighbor downstairs wpent the whole goddamn morning hammering something metallic and woke us up after we had already stayed up way too late watching zack's special extended lord of the rings movies...is it just me or are all the extended scenes just crap where people speak elvish and were probably cut so as not to alienate the non-nerds at the theater?...seriously there was really no need for any of that.
the thing i like to do at this time of the years is read all the year end lists for best albums, because they almost always suck. rolling stone hasn't put there's out yet but i know that chinese democracy will be on it and they will lose all credibility. but after going over the lists from uncut, paste, mojo, and blender i'm just amazed how bad they are. it wasn't exactly the greatest year for music but some of the crap that made it into the top ten of these lists were just crap. stereogum has most of these lists up if you want to check them out. i guess the magazines have to cater to everyone but that's really no excuse for some of these picks. so would i do so much better? no, but i don't have to answer to anyone so it doesn't matter. my favorite albums released in 2008 are (in no real order):

los campesinos!-both of the albums they put out this year were fucking great!
