i'm pretty OK today. THANK YOU everyone that gave hugs and said nice things in the post below. :-)
i believe that there is no better way for me and AEW for our doggies to leave us than how it went. She called a vet that came in and handled everything ... http://kristi-freeman.com/
i think i only cried a few times last night ... and was sad a few times today, but think i only cried once. But i'm sure there are plenty more tears in me for dam dog. i notice her absence all the time... i can just get in the car, no opening up the back, no setting up the ramp so her old joints don't take a jolt. Empty dog beds seemingly everywhere. Having consideration for her was a HUGE part of my daily life. It's weird, i technically have more freedom but i'm definitely not enjoying it yet.
i think i'm going to hold off about 6 months before getting a dog. Might get a kitty for the shop...
