So I had some o' that tonight. I've heard numerous reports that Five Guys Burgers and Fries has super-good food, and it's totally worth the cost (even on LJ--you know who you are, Randy). I must say I was not disappointed, the food was superb, probably just because they never freeze the beef and grill it on the spot. This is probably why it costs a little more--the manpower required to spend a few more minutes to grill it must be costly in the long run. Regardless, they seem to be doing very well, at least the one on Elizabeth St., since it was jam-packed when I went.
However, it's unfortunate that I must say I may never go again. The food was most certainly EXCELLENT, and worth the money I paid for, but I don't have that kind of money for just a regular hamburger. It was rather small anyway, and I'm usually satisfied with a quarter-pounder from McDonald's (which is to say that the quality doesn't have to be THAT good for me to eat it), so why should I spend more?
Of course, once I get a really good job and start making some money, fast food hamburgers will become an inferior good and I'll start going to places like Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Fo sho, yo.
