And then someone dragged his sorry butt back to school. [Action post.]

[Despite saying he was going to be gone for a day, he was actually gone for two nights and almost three days. He walked back into school almost as if nothing had happened. Battered brown leather jacket done up despite the days lingering warmth, scuffed gym bag over his shoulder and a five oclock shadow that looked more like seven fifteen. He looked ( Read more... )

[Nabooru had been taking Tapasvi out for his nightly stroll, mostly because she'd figured no one would see him. But then she saw Jon, the Jon who'd said he was leaving for a few days. She'd told him to be careful - he didn't look like he had been - and he had no idea what she was talking about.

... Or so he claimed.

So while Tapasvi was rooting around the grass and happily blowing streams of fire to amuse himself, she squinted at Jon.]

Look who's back.

[....oh goodness. There was one of those things. And it seemed to be accompanying that woman. Hopefully it wasn't some relative of the one he and Riwane had hunted, because that would probably violate some kind of touchy feely school rule.

And being as he didn't want anyone to know that it was his handiwork to provide the school with a giant reptile to nosh on... he'd simply not ask her more than...]

...what is that thing, exactly?

[The Gerudo blinked and she looked down to Tapasvi, who seemed perfectly happy winding himself slowly around Nabooru's feet. When he was addressed, however, no matter how indirect it may have been, he looked over to Jon.]

This is a dodongo. He's a...

[She stopped to think about it for a few moments.]

Uh. I think here people would think of them like dinosaurs. Dodongos are reptiles, I think. They blow fire--

[Tapasvi interrupted by proudly demonstrating a graceful small stream.]

--as you can see.

[Hmm. The one he faced the other day with Riwane hadn't. Perhaps they just hadn't given it a chance.]

I see. It's an interesting beast... I've never seen the like before coming here.

[A pause and finally he stopped looking at the spaec dargon Hyrulean reptile and turned his attention to her.]

Nabooru, wasn't it?

[She looked down to Tapasvi and fingered her chin with her free hand.]

Yeah. This is the only one I've seen here. A friend of mine had him in his room. I thought I'd take it off his hands.

[Then she nodded to her companion. He was rather muscular. It was better to see him in person, honestly.]

That's right. You remembered.

I've an alright memory for names.

[A small shrug.]

There are a lot of animals about the wood and mountains that I've not seen before. And a lot of them attending the school as well.

You said it.

[She knows exactly what he means. Hell, she's known for almost two years now.]

You look a little beat up. Not a lot, but just wonderful. You get into a scuffle with a tree?

No. I was in the mountains. Not many trees out there. But plenty of rocks and they all had it coming so...

[He shrugged. It was about as close to an actual joke as he ever got, Nabooru.]

[She paused and then she laughed.]

Oh, is that how it goes? Well, if I have any boulders bullying me, does that mean I should call on you?

jonny_talbain September 18 2011, 21:06:31 UTC
Undoubtedly. I'll see them off for you without any hassle.

[....Gorons don't count as Boulders do they?]

[Nabooru snorted and couldn't resist a grin.]

My hero.

[She shook her head and playfully flexed as she continued.]

You always been that buff or did a god seriously give you a gift?

Well, it's a good part nature, a good part hard work. Breeding counts for a lot and training fixes up what breeding can't do alone.

Breeding. So you're saying it's a combination of excellent lineage and an obsession with working out.

[Apparently all men are the same.]

Exceptional lineage and less an obsession with working out, more a determined focus on actual fight training. I work out too of course, but I'm more interested in learning techniques than just working on muscles.

Really...

[Nabooru nodded along and she smiled.]

Hence the reason you were interested in my private lessons.

Obviously.

[A nod in her direction. In actual fact a very small bow.]

You look to be more than comfortable with the blade. I can see your skill even in the simple Kata you were doing... I'd be pleased to have you teach me.
