"Bonjour!" Waka replies with a cheery wave. His hand seems awfully close to his nose. "I couldn't help but listen for a while. Have you played that thing very much?"
And of course...
"And what a... lovely style you're sporting." Afros? Totally in, right?
That wasn't quite what Waka meant, but oh, did his clothes ever stand out, too. Those... very bright pink pants. It was even too pink for him to handle, and he was drenched in pink.
"Well... not quite. I was talking about that," he gestured, "poof of yours. How did you do that?"
He was kind of curious. He didn't think hair could get that puffy!
"... Ahaha! I see, I see." Waka felt a little less boggled and, honestly, weirded out. "Hmm. You... wouldn't wear that to class, now would you? It might be a little distracting."
"I usually only wear it when I'm playing by myself," said Duster. "I was in a band with some guys with some pretty flashy hair. So they had me wear a wig. It has a lot of memories in it, this afro wig."
Aha, that made even MORE sense. Memories were a whole lot to Waka, too. He didn't quite voice that, but he couldn't ever have a set of dual blades without his Pillowtalk. So many good times he endured with that sword-slash-flute, including some very wonderful... and very nasty times.
If he ever lost Pillowtalk, well. He would just have to go with a solo blade. Though part of him wishes he could wield a rosary, too. So lovely and full of potential strategy.
"Was? So, that is to say... your band broke up?" He gave a hum and a tilt of the head. His hand cupped his chin. "A shame, really, but... ah, c'est la vie. There are always reunion opportunities, aren't there?"
"Yeah, we've had a couple of reunion things," said Duster. "Once at the end of the world, and the other time last summer, when I got them to come play for a party here." And then Duster realized the words that had come out of his mouth.
Oh right, end of the world. Right. Duster, why did you say that.
The end of the world. To Waka, that meant one thing and one thing only. Of course, a lot of people probably still remembered that day, and many still refer to it as what could have been the end of the world.
He kept a straight face, but if Duster looked carefully, he might catch a glimmer of discomfort.
"... You recall the Day of Darkness, hm? You had a reunion on that day of all days?"

Of course, to Duster that meant something totally different.
"Yeah, we were there," said Duster, absentmindedly looking at his bass instead of at the person he was talking to. "Almost everyone in the world was, though I didn't see you there. Must have missed you. I showed up with Lucas, Kuma and Boney, and my old band was there, about to play a show. So I joined up with them for one last show, before, well, everything else happened. Sort of the final sane moment I had that day."
that. is a horrible way to lose a tag. /patpattribuluneDecember 21 2011, 01:10:42 UTC
"Aha, yes... you might have just not seen me. I was there."
In the Ark of Yamato trying to fight Yami and failing, more like. Still, though, he witnessed it -- firsthand.
"Luckily enough, it seems the gods aren't on the side of darkness. Not that I expected them to be. Then they just simply wouldn't be very godly, would they?" Waka knew this. Amaterasu is a benevolent, watchful goddess, and the way she defeated the Eternal Emperor of Darkness was nothing short of superb.
There were. Funny enough, this all sprung from the descendant of a great hero's accidental awakening of a sleeping dragon. Well, a dragon sealed to a fate of never unleashing wrath again, but it still counts.
Waka had a twinge of surprise course through his face. This man... knew a lot more than he thought.
"Yes, yes. The one who awakened the dragon... and the one who helped to slay it again."
Amaterasu and Susano, Shiranui and Nagi. Funny how events seemed to repeat themselves.
Eventually, Duster will look up to see the guy(lady?) watching him play. "Hey," he said, holding the giant beast of an instrument.

Not to him, no.

But Duster had no idea what the man meant by style.
"You like my shirt?" asked Duster. "Or the pants?" he asked further. His bright, bright magenta pink pants.

"Oh, you mean my afro?" Duster asked.
An errant hand worked its way up to his hair and grabbed a hold of it and lifted.
His hair went up three inches or so.
"It's a wig."

For him and for the students.

Well isn't that... nice.

He was uncertain how to go forward at this point.

"I suppose not," said Duster. "But it had a lot to do with who woke the sleeping dragon."
Were there sleeping dragons in your apocalypse, Waka?

And then remade it. But you weren't around for that part.

Namely because their might was so fierce that even Ammy almost failed to defeat them.
