Only now he realized he might not even be a girl. He could be waiting to meet a guy.
Still, he had dressed in his Sunday tuxedo best, his parent's lesson about how to treat a visitor with respect repeating in his mind as he fidgeted with his hands below, waiting.

On the other hand, it was a free meal and maybe it wouldn't be someone she hated. Like Professor Robotnik. That would have sucked.
So when she saw Edward, she was pleasant surprise. As she scooted into her chair, she settled her chin into the palm of her hand. "Well, well, well. You're a sight for sore eyes. How's it hanging, Edward?"
Reply
Sitting down again, he gave an awkward grin of a man who had no idea how to address girls properly.
"I'm fine. I'm rather pleased you're here as well and not ahh...male."

She looked down to herself, even sat up a little straighter and ran her hands over the front of her bustline. "No. I'm pretty sure I'm a woman. I don't suppose you want to check."
Reply
"W-well---I-I..no. No that would be to terribly impolite," he managed to stammer, his accent thick and heavy.
Reply
"Sorry. I'm teasing you." She smiled kindly and tapped the fingers of her right hand upon the table's surface. "Where are you from? No one else here, as far as I know, talks like that."

"A country far away from here." She guessed so. "I've never heard of it. What made you decide to transfer to the academy from Capcom's rather than returning home?"
The interrogation began.

Oh ho ho ho not so fast. Edward was raised as a high class rich boy. He knew how these things went and the proper etiquette. Not that he was using it much before in his life.
"But enough about me. You are quite...exotic, and dare I say, a rather beautiful woman. From which lands do you hail from?"
Reply
"Exotic, hm? I'd say I'm average next to my kind." Then Nabooru tapped at her lower lip with her free hand. "I hail from a desert. Far away from this land. So far that I doubt the sun even scarcely touches it when she sinks beneath the horizon."

Edward had his utterly derpy moments. Or maybe he was right. The nature of the school kept everything in a strange state of confusion.
"But please, don't be so modest about yourself!"
Reply
"That's not modesty," she countered. "I'm not a modest person. I'm strictly stating a fact." She really did find that the Gerudo mostly looked the same: the same tanned flesh, the same radiant red hair, and the same facial structure. There wasn't much in the way of variety, but some people actually digged that. Nabooru, personally, would have liked some individuality, however.

"I am sure that even if you may look similair, there are always details that differ you. Twins, for example. If you know a pair enough you'll be able to denote them based on personality and mannerisms."
Reply
"You're a real flatterer, you know that?" she asked with a sly smile. Nabooru leaned forward in her chair and her free hand tapped at the table with interest. Why yes. He was a bit charming and Nabooru liked charm; there was no doubt about it.
