Suddenly, a demon flew down from the sky and landed close to him. Lash extended her fangs and claws for a few seconds, hissing.
"Boo!"
Of course, she was only kidding. Hawke already knew she she looked like now and it was just hilarious to do this to someone who had a perfect poker face.
Today, his pokerface was not at maximum functioning capacity. Hawke was not entirely prepared for DEMON ATTACK FROM ABOVE, and with his current strange affliction, he was not well-supplied in the self-control department.
Oh god he was having a heart attack. He staggered backward, clutching his chest and letting the yell run its course until he felt he could speak again.
If there could have been the sound of a disc coming to an abrupt scratching end, it would have right now. Lash stared at him incredulously. Hawke? Having a heart attack.
No. No he was not okay, and he was still having trouble putting words to exactly what was wrong with him, only that he seemed to be having trouble controlling his FEELINGS.
Lash, however, seemed incredibly nonchalant for sprouting wings and horns and other such deadly-looking appendages.
By now, she would probably notice that Hawke was actually having facial expressions like a normal person.
"Apparently some sort of demon, but let's forget about that for a second, kay?" Seriously, Lash could post aside her own problems considering how strange Hawke looked. She could say he was almost human right now.
It scared her. A sense of dread that was creeping up her spine.
"Did you...fall into a spring? A body of water? Something?"
Logical way of dealing with things; find a reason why it was happening.
What? How could she possibly be so nonchalant about being "some sort of demon"? Hawke was fairly certain that if he was in her situation, he'd be flipping out all over the place.
Wait.
At the very least, he looked incredibly bewildered. "No. I took a walk into the ruins, but I didn't fall into any water. Is that what happened to you?"
"Yeah. I figured nothing would happen since it brought Blacky back to life and I was alive. I got turned into this for my troubles." She shrugged, much more concerned with her commander.
"Boo!"
Of course, she was only kidding. Hawke already knew she she looked like now and it was just hilarious to do this to someone who had a perfect poker face.

"...Lash?"

Maybe it was all that coffee. It had to be all that coffee.

His eyes were wide and he looked clearly frazzled.
"What. Happened to you?"

"I fell into a spring. Are you sure you're okay?"
He really didn't look okay.

"Did you touch something you shouldn't have?"
Reply
"All I did was take a walk. I did explore the temple a bit, but I didn't touch or take anything."
