TIKI SLUMBER PARTY [open]

Jul 30, 2011 01:19

Who: YOU
What: A blustery island storm has knocked out the hotel/resort power for one night. Mass slumber party ensues.
Where: TIKI ISLAND HOTEL LOBBY
When: Saturday, July 30th, late at night
Warnings: But we're sleeping over...

How have you been enjoying your vacation so far? Explored the island enough yet? Missing school and classwork, haha? Gotten your curses and shenanigans on (or at least some nice tans)? Well good, because earlier today you probably noticed dark clouds building on the horizon. A storm is brewing.

The rain stays off shore most the day until the late hours of the evening and then becomes progressively worse and worse. The straw-and-bamboo complex creeks and groans with every gust of wind, while pattering rain hits the roof but otherwise holds up quite fine against the storm... at least the building itself does. All it takes is one bright flash and loud clap of lighting to cease and desist the dull hum of electricity in the resort. No lights, no computers, no climate control. Things should be fixed by morning, but sleep might not come so easily tonight...

In contrast with the warm sun and sand of day, the dark of night and rain cool the air surprisingly fast. There's some alternate methods of keeping warm down in the lobby; candles, and extra blankets... but interestingly, there's a lot more spare sleeping bags than there are spare blankets.

Hmmmmmm.
