Lighter passed by the cafe a few times in his rare trips out into the heart of the city, but most of the time it was closed. Today was different, and since he wasn't in any particular hurry to buy some of those magic potions or whatever for his Pokemon, he decided to drop in.

The second he stepped through the door he felt under dressed and out of place. Why did eating have to be such a formal event anyway?!

"Lighter!" Arceus greeted in her little black dress. "You look very nice this morning." Strange how the man who felt under-dressed suddenly appeared to be clothed in something snug and tight-fitting.

"Are you going to be joining us today?"

Lighter definitely felt the change from his nice comfortable work clothes to this crazy fancy-pants crap, but considering who he was talking to, he wasn't as surprised as he thought he would be in such a situation. "Uh... Yeah, you too. I guess I'll stay now that I'm all gussied up like this. What d'you got on the menu?"

"The menu is on each of the serving table, but it's buffet style. You just help yourself to what you want."

"Sounds great. Y'know, it seems like you got a different kinda food thing goin' on every time you do somethin' like this. Tryin' to find somethin' you like, or do you just like the whole deal of keepin' it, uh... New and fresh or whatever?"

"I have seen so many foods and menus over the years that bringing a little bit of the world on a plate each time would seems like the smallest I can do." In other words, yes, the menu changed all the time. You might call it a seasonal menu.

"A little bit of the world, huh..." Lighter grabbed the menu from the nearest table and glossed over it, only recognizing half the items. "Y'know, it's weird to think about, that the whole world's so damn big..."

"And that's before you take into consideration the fact that we're merely just a pale blue speck in the universe," Bob added with a sage nod.

"You sure know how to make a guy feel real insignificant."

"No, not like that," she argued. "I have always found it more of a humbling experience. To know how much there is out there and yet for all of us to live here...it makes me feel more proud about this tiny blue dot and making sure that it is protected."

"I guess..." All the power in the world to stop all the bad things from happening, but she didn't. It didn't make sense. But he didn't really want to voice his doubts out loud.

It's okay, Bob heard them.

"If I did, then no one would ever learn and grow from experience," she explained simply. "I protect, but I must also remain passive to be able to judge with fairness. And people must be allowed their own choices. I know it is probably not the best words to say, I realize. If you are mad at me for it, then there is not much I can do."

"Yeah, it makes sense when you put it like that I guess. It's just... I dunno, seein' some of the stuff that's happened to people close to me is just..."

He trailed off and shook his head. "Well, it ain't my place to judge someone like you I guess. Anyway, I dunno what half the stuff on this menu even is. What do you think I'd like, knowin' everything you do?"

"Salad with the sweet potato fries, a slice of the beef and the lobster bisque." There wasn't even hesitation in her voice. "And you can eat as much as you want!"

"Sounds good! 'Scuse me a minute while I load up a plate here."
