After his last meeting with Knuckles, where the echidna extolled the virtues of having extracurricular interests, R.O.B. decided to give it a try and see what could suit him. Hearing there was an opening at this cafe, he sent in an application. And this was going to be his first service.

He arrived early for his shift, and awaited his instructions.

"R.O.B!" A few months before, Bob would probably have politely refused his aid, but ever since the strange week, she found herself much more accepting of machines. "I'm glad you came. What would you like to do today? Serve drinks? Work the cash register?"

"Your head looks shopped on N you might want to get that looked," Bob said.

"Aww N, you look quite charming!" Bob added, beaming at him. "What would you like to do?"

"I can't quite cook, so... I was curious about if being a waiter would suffice for you, Original One."

Was N bowing? He was bowing. What. Weirdo.

"Please call me Bob," Original One grinned and presented him with a waiter's plate. "You can do whatever you feel like doing today. Waiting will be mostly giving out drinks and picking up plates. The tablet will make carrying plates much easier for you."

"Hello, N," R.O.B. said. To Bob, he said, "I am at your disposal, wherever you require me. I do not have much experience with food preparation, however," he explained, recalling the moment he accidentally wrecked Louie's oven in cooking class.

There was a miniature Lighter in the kitchen. When did she even get there? What mattered was that she felt indebted to Bob for giving her a home, so she was going to help out.

And she just looked so gosh darn cute in her tiny bowtie.

D'aaaaaw. "How about if you work serving drinks with R.O.B.?" Arceus offered her, pointing to the robot. "You can stand on his head and the both of you can double your capacity for drink serving."

Cinder looked to ROB, back to Bob, and then nodded with only the slightest hesitation. She could do this no problem, and then she'd be helpful, right? She would be a good Pokemon and then maybe Zippo would stop being mean.

She stood on tip-toe to grab glasses off the counter and carefully lined them up along her piece of lumber. She was ready for business!

"A Timburr...! Hello!"

He completely forgot about ROB at this point. SORRY ROB. POGLE.

That's okay, N, R.O.B. didn't mind people forgetting he was there. He simply nodded and picked up a tray, ready to work the tables and take orders.

Like a boss.

"Yoshi's not late! Yoshi is here on time!" Yoshi shouted as he ran into the cafe, or more specifically, ran into ROB.

Oh. Oh that wasn't good. He held on tight to the tray, but that didn't matter much when the impact knocked R.O.B. backwards.

"Wah!" Yoshi gasped and tried to fix this as quickly as he could, which involved grabbing at the tray to try and keep it right-side up.
