"I actually had some similar ideas to what N already said." he spoke, looking at his paper. "Power and the ability to use it, without any real kind of conscience.... Tyrants are people who oppress others, usually a lot of them. So, for them to have that ability, there has to be some kind of power at work. Money or political influence.... even just really powerful friends or allies that could be brought in to stop any kind of uprising. I guess, magical power or really advanced science would count too... but you have to have the will to use that power to oppress. The power itself isn't always BAD but the way in which it's used is what counts.
As for altering it.... well. The power needs to be in the hands of someone who wants the best for everyone and works towards that. Even if the power isn't USED by that person, just kept safe and hidden. The challenge would be finding someone with that kind of mindset and keeping them on that path because power can corrupt people too. Even... even good people. Or people who think they are good."
He looked the slightest bit uncomfortable, but continued.
"The person would also have to be strong enough not only to resist the temptation that that kind of power has, but be strong enough to protect it from those who might take it. Because I think that there's quite a few people who have the will to become tyrants, but maybe not the ability or power to take it to the next level."
He tapped his chin with his pen, looking at his notes intently. "So, in short... the will to become a tyrant, the ability to do so granted by some kind of power, and the lack of someone to take that power and use it wisely or not at all."

"You both bring to mind only what fuels the tyrants themselves, without considering the situations that bring them to power. A lust for power is meaningless without the citizenry to support it, be it through an election, a coup, or likewise. Otherwise they are only babbling to themselves."
After a pause to clear his throat, which came out in almost a dusty cough, he continued. "Although the both of you also bring up a hero, an overthrower, one who casts down the tyrants from the heavens themselves if need be. What qualifies someone as a true hero?"

He trailed off, eyes downcast. He really was just babbling from personal experience, wasn't he? All that needed to be changed was that the citizenry was the population of Unova... and he himself.

You expected more? No, Pit's thoughts were pretty simplistic and straightforward at this point. Plus, he never organized notes, so... he was just talking off the tip of his tongue.

Certainly he had felt fear when he had summoned the gods and ordered them to erase that rotten world. But it was what had to be done and so he did so without hesitation. "Personal attachments must be set aside for that greater good. We are only human." For now. A moment later he added "Or the equivalent thereof."
