ALL DAY ERRY DAYbadasscoptersMarch 25 2011, 23:46:08 UTC
Haha sparkles. Haha festivals. Haha treats- well okay, maybe not that last part.
Goose reclined up inside of the trees, enjoying the pretty cherry blossoms and eating cotton candy, elephant ears, nachos, and other such things from vendors.
Not exactly the traditional way of celebrating, but whatever.

[OH HEY THERE. Matthew had finished his stolen food, and was getting bored with a singular perch, so he had decided to see how far he could get without touching the ground. Out in the courtyard he hadn't gotten far, but in the denser part of the park, it was proving fairly easy to slide or hop from the outermost limb of one tree to the next

Re: ALL DAY ERRY DAYbadasscoptersMarch 26 2011, 03:01:54 UTC
[Goose wasn't the kind to celebrate traditionally... sometimes. Last time the festival came around, he did spend it a little more typically. It just kind of depended on his mood. He liked to be, erm, different at times.
He also admittedly jumped once Matthew made his presence known. HE DIDN'T EVEN, WHAT. How did he get behind him so quietly?!
He manages to force out a grin regardless. Can't look like a wuss now.]
Re: ALL DAY ERRY DAYbrb_lootingMarch 26 2011, 03:17:44 UTC
[That little jump was what Matthew lived for. So good to know his sneaking abilities are still up to snuff. He admires Goose for not losing face however, and he doesn't want to appear too pleased with having startled him. In retrospect it really wasn't the best idea to go alerting the security guard to his powers of sneak like this, but he just couldn't help it.
Ploy 'innocence by ignorance' is a go!]
From behind you of course, sir. These trees sure are lovely, I've never seen anything like them.
[And a healthy dose of subject change never hurt anyone. It seems like Goose is trying to laugh it off, so there's a good chance he'll take the opportunity to steer the conversation in a new direction.
The bit about never having seen trees like this is a lie, but it's easy for him to put on an awed face, and gaze around absently at the flowers.]
Re: ALL DAY ERRY DAYbadasscoptersMarch 26 2011, 14:41:59 UTC
[Goose stuffed a chunk of pretzel into his mouth and glanced around. The trees weren't exactly common, needless to say, so Matthew's obliviousness to what they were didn't surprise him. He'd only ever seen cherry blossoms here and in Little States during the Spring time.]
Yep. They're cherry blossoms. They ain't around a whole lot, but they're damn nice. Never seen any actual cherries on 'em, though.
[Did he have no idea if they grew on trees or not? Yes, he had no idea. He never really bothered to find out.]
Re: ALL DAY ERRY DAYbrb_lootingMarch 26 2011, 15:45:15 UTC
[He continues looking at the flowers, but moves to join Goose in his tree, the branches shifting and swaying slightly under his weight. Now that Goose is aware he's here, there's no need to stay behind him, and conversations were always more revealing when face to face.
That's one drawback of those glasses. They don't conceal all that much, but a lot can be learned from someone's eyes. He'll just have to work around that.]
I wonder why they're called that then....They smell wonderful.
Re: ALL DAY ERRY DAYbadasscoptersMarch 26 2011, 15:54:09 UTC
Yep. Ain't so sure if they smell like cherries, but...
[Goose inhaled deeply and savored the aroma of the fresh, lush cherry blossoms. This is why hanging around in a tree is probably the most fun thing to do.]
Eh, but that doesn't matter. How are you enjoying the festival, eh? Kinda fun, I've gotta say. [Then again, considering his roots, he had a certain bias for festivities and celebrations. Holiday Island was called Holiday Island for a reason.]
Re: ALL DAY ERRY DAYbrb_lootingMarch 26 2011, 18:33:50 UTC
[Matthew reaches a hand up to pluck at one of the slimmer branches, causing it to shake lightly, then watching as the dislodged petals flutter down in the breeze.]
It certainly is nice. I've been finding it hard to keep up with all this new technology, and it's good to take an afternoon off and just relax.
[That's not entirely true, but it has elements of it. He's been in a bit of a frenzy, collecting as much information as he can, but he just sent off a report to Hector, so he feels it's high time he took a bit of a break.]
Re: ALL DAY ERRY DAYbadasscoptersMarch 26 2011, 19:12:51 UTC
Good. The technology ain't that hard to get used to, though. You'll like it eventually.
[Goose glanced down at his food, and then looked back over to Matthew, he who lacked Beautifully Delicious Treats. This was something to be remedied, he felt. Everyone needed said treats.]
Hey, you hungry? You've gotta try some festival food sometime. It's great.
Re: ALL DAY ERRY DAYbrb_lootingMarch 27 2011, 06:35:18 UTC
[He doesn't know the works, but he's willing to try them. Especially this strange fluffy substance currently in front of his face. He prods at it, and then tears a bit off, sniffing it before putting it in his mouth.
There is no acting required for the explosion of pleasure that erupts across his face. It reminds him of being a child. He used to sneak into the bakery and eat the straight sugar used for pastries. But this stuff is better somehow.
He snatches another piece, this one larger, and pops it into his mouth as well, the taste just as divine.]
Mmm! It's so sweet, sir!
[If this stays in front of his face he will be attempting to capture morsel after morsel.]
Re: ALL DAY ERRY DAYbadasscoptersMarch 27 2011, 13:51:36 UTC
Ain't cotton candy the best?
[Goose had a sweet tooth. Oh, did he EVER have a sweet tooth. He loved to eat bit after bit of sugary sugary sugar. Also, sugary sugar. Did I mention sugary sugars?
He shoved another piece into his mouth and felt it melt into his tongue like nothing. So good!]
Cotton candy's just sugar, just... kinda made into puffs. Dunno how they do it, but damn, I wish I knew. I'd make it all the time.
Re: ALL DAY ERRY DAYbrb_lootingMarch 28 2011, 21:09:19 UTC
[Matthew is very unaccustomed to so much sugar at once, and soon enough he'll be sorely regretting this as his stomach tries to kill him from the inside out, but for now he's happily nomming on fluffy sweet goodness.
Mmmh. More of this is definitely on his 'to steal' list.]
It's fantastic.
[Oh, but you don't know how it's made? Dang, he was about to ask.]
I wonder who would know then. Is there a cooking class here by any chance sir?
Hmm. I only have icons of Matthew being Matthew, There isn't any art of him acting or spying :| brb_lootingMarch 29 2011, 05:19:15 UTC
[He's seen some pretty weird things at this school already, so the idea that a bear runs the cafeteria is not completely shocking. Somewhat odd, but not OMGWTFBBQ levels of strange. Not that he knows that scale, but whatever. What is far more interesting to Matthew is the quiet remark about past staff. That little mumble was weighted with potential valuable information, and Matthew needed to know what.
From what Matthew knew about Goose he was the kind who was fairly loose with information. So far he'd answered every single question that Matthew had asked, so there was no real reason to try and be subtle or sneaky about worming the information out of him. The wide eyed curious face should work just fine. He's just a mildly concerned naive farm-boy. Go ahead, tell him everything.]
The...bear? Okay, but what do you mean 'or worse'?
[His head is cocked to the side, bright brown eyes are just a tad wider than normal, and a slightly shocked expression adorns his face.]

[This sounds like an easy opportunity to get free food. Matthew loves free food.]
I am, sir. What exactly have you got there?

[He held up a blob of cotton candy, right in Matthew's eye view. All cotton candy is? It's just this concoction of cavity-bringing hell.
It wasn't that Goose cared about that part, though.]
Here. In the mood for this stuff? It's one of my favorites.

[Goose ponders for a moment, and soon enough, a solution reaches his noggin. Aha! Now he knows what Matthew can do.]
Unless you don't mind dealing with a giant bear. You can go ahead and ask the cafeteria bear. He'll help you out. Maybe.
[Yes. He's serious.]
