Rouge studied the table, taking note of seat placeholders at each setting. When she was fairly certain no one was looking, she switched the cards for herself and Goombella so that SHE was sitting next to Knuckles instead of his girlfriend. As stealthy as she was about it, she was fairly sure at least one person would notice the switch eventually. Whatever reaction she'd get would be amusing to her, at least.

She took her seat (HER SEAT NOW, HERS) and called out to Knuckles: "Oh Knuxxie~! I'm famished! Did you set this up as a buffet, or should we call for a waiter?"

"Oh, you get a waiter." Knuckles said, taking his seat and looking at where Rouge was sitting, and where Goombella's card was now placed.

Huh... the staff musta got the seating order mixed up... he thought to himself as he casually grabbed Goombella's card and switched it with Gooses', who had been sitting on his other side. He was sure the pilot wouldn't mind. And it wasn't as though he was going to cpmplain about being in the middle of these two anyhow. In fact he should have thought of this sooner.

"So, you can go ahead and get whatever you like. I'm sure the guy will be along to take our drink order shortly, at least."

Well, that was anti-climactic. But no biggie, she thought. She STILL got to sit next to him. It was worth it!

"Thanks, Knux." She smiles and poked his nose out of gratitude. Glancing over the menu, patiently waiting for the others to seat themselves, or for the waiter to arrive and take her order. Whichever came first.

And so here Goose came. Sorry Rouge, but you get to sit in front of a not-so-polite eater. Prepare for food crumbs a-flyin'.

"Heeeeeeeey. So what's this place even have to eat?" He flipped open the menu in a swift motion and began to read. What a curious selection.

"There's a whole lotta neat stuff. I know they have Salmon - Rouge, I think you said once you liked Salmon? I know that I'm gettin' the Broccoli and Carrots with the spinnach-artichoke dip and a huuuuge meatless Cobb-Salad."

The Menus were large and expansive, filled with very colorful pictures of the food and fancy, tricky to read cursive font. You know you're onto someplace special when you can hardly read the names of the dishes because the font has too many curlies and twisties. Classy stuff, you guys.

This place certainly had lots of... greens. Goose was a little disappointed by such a lack of meat compared to what he was used to, but he could deal with it. At least they had seafood, which was a giant plus. Surge kind of got him into that stuff more than he already was.

"I think I'll just get one of these here... mahi-mahis? And some of the pan-seared scallops."

Wave, who got positioned next to Sonic and at least had him in between her and Rouge, scanned over the menu. "I can barely decide what to get first..." Finally though, her eyes settled on one item in particular. "Now there's something I haven't had in a while: lobster!"

Goombella, meanwhile, was ordering a variety plate. She couldn't choose just one, and didn't want to.

Knuckles had placed his order with the waiter. Doing his best not to object to the addition of a Lobster to the table.

....but it was Waves' special night so... he.. could stick his principles firmly on the sidelines this evening.

Rouge leaned back in her chair and skimmed the menu. Yes, she'd decided to get the salmon with string beans and mashed potatoes. It was something she was POSITIVE she'd never be getting from the cafeteria at the school.
