Who: Hawke and YOU. What: BOARD GAMES!? When: December 7th-10th, afternoons. Where: THE BIGGEST, MOST PUBLIC COMMON ROOM WITH ALL THE BOARD GAMES. Warnings: Candyland, probably.
This will be thrilling.notsotoxicDecember 8 2010, 01:52:51 UTC
Vianca was, as Vianca often did, reading a book. She just so happened to be doing it in one of the common rooms this time. The very one that Hawke had taken residence in, in fact. Right across from him even! How that had happened was an eternal mystery of plot device.
She of course realized that she was not alone, occasionally looking over her book to watch him make a play with his stunningly exciting game of solitaire.
She glanced up again to see if Hawke had perhaps noticed this strange invisible force that was turning her page. Vianca turned it again, curious this time.
He was still not done with it, The thrilling conclusion to the page was near but still not quite at his grasp.
Perhaps if you where a little more attentive, you would had seen a hand turning the page again. But I really doubt it since Gideon was pretty careful when he didn't wanted to disturb other people and their books.
Hawke could appreciate a reader. He devoured novels himself, with an almost voracious fervor that surprised even him, at times. He also understood the courtesy to let readers read, and therefore only offered Vianca a nod when she took a seat across from him.
It soon became obvious, however, that something in or about the book was puzzling her, and he looked up, wondering why she was suddenly appearing so bewildered. "Is something wrong?"
An invisible guest? Well, he certainly wouldn't put it past this school. Hawke straightened in his chair and peered around the room, trying to catch a sign of the apparent visitor.
"Hello?" He called into the room, not sure if anyone was there, but figuring it couldn't hurt to try and find them.
The problem with having spent the majority of one's life at this school was that these sorts of occurrences came across as somewhat surprising, but not all that unusual. Vianca simply lifted her eyebrows slightly, the best indicator that she was surprised at all.
"Let me know when you are finished with that page."
Hawke was pretty hard-pressed to betray any kind of emotion, much less surprise. He was at least glad, however, that the ghostly presence had made himself known. The CO did not take kindly to being spied on.
"Hello." He said, not seeming very pleased about the intrusion at all. Then he went right back to his card game.
She shook her head slightly, taking the intrusion a bit better than Hawke. "Vianca."
Despite knowing that he had read it, she still waited a few moments for him to finish, letting her eyes wander over to the small pile of games Hawke had collected and the games that were still on the shelf.
Hawke had taken down a few boxes from the various and sundry pile of board games that cluttered the shelves of the common room. Mostly thinking games like Stratego, Risk, and Mastermind.
He watched Vianca's eyes begin to scan the collection, but said nothing.
And then something caught her eye with its mystical, whimsical font. What was that. She needed to go see. So she gently set her book aside and went to the shelf!
She picked up. The game. It was, dear reader, the version that didn't suck balls.
She of course realized that she was not alone, occasionally looking over her book to watch him make a play with his stunningly exciting game of solitaire.
So stunning. So exciting. She turned the page.

Well. That was a surprise.
Vianca looked back up at Hawke. "I believe I read too quickly for an invisible guest."

Perhaps a bit too close to Hawke, or too far from Vianca...
Echos are a terrible thing.

Gideon made himself visible, a little too close to comfort? perhaps, But it was the best reading angle for him.
"Please, excuse me if I have startled you... The name is Gideon."

Well, he made himself comfortable in the now empty seat and began reading said book again, not minding the games of others.

"What's that?" He asked.
