Red looked significantly less ready than the rest of his team -- in fact, he looked exactly the same with only the addition of his crummy yellow backpack. Maybe there was duct tape in it too it was a mystery.

Oh, look who was catching up to the group! She might not have been able to do a terrible lot in the way of electronics, but if something needed to be Barrier'd, this espeon was going to be your go-to in the way of pokemon.

That was pretty reassuring, actually. Especially since in Vinnie's deluded mind, the only person in the world he's ever met that surpassed Max in sheer manliness was Red.

As far as he was concerned, Red didn't need any weapons because he was just that manly.

Euphrosyne too was eying the chainsaw. A device of utility but a cruel thing nonetheless in the wrong hands, just like humans with pokemon.
