Moving at a snail's pace along the ice, Weavile ventured a glance in Misty's direction. It seemed she really wanted to see him skate in Pokemon form. He supposed he should've expected as much. A trainer will always be a trainer, regardless of the location or situation. He didn't find it offensive, simply amusing.

"Alright," he nodded. "Once I'm able to make at least one full lap around the rink, then I'll transform. Is that alright with you?"

YAY. Now clearly Misty was totally excited. "That sounds great to me! Just keep practicing until you think you're okay!"

In the meantime, she decided to attempt to do something classic. She probably wouldn't do it so well, but it was worth a shot. She attempted to skate in the shape of an '8', the classical figure-8 shape. It looked extremely shaky, really, but it was certainly a decent try.

"How did that look?"

Truth be told, Weavile was only half paying attention to Misty's skating. Standing up straight, nonetheless moving around on the ice and not falling down, took some attention. But he managed to look up and catch the last part of the figure 8.

"That was very nice," he replied. "Simply being on the ice is helping your form." Too bad the same could not be said for himself.

Thankfully by now, he was able to slide across the ice without much problem. His movements were still slow and mechanical, but it was improvement.

"Thanks!" Well, that was good to know! As Misty continued to skate, she was being able to get the hang of it, anyway. She was losing that 'rustiness' that she maintained, which was a very good sign. She was really improving, as was Weavile.

After a while on the ice, though, she decided it was a good idea to take a break. She sat by on one of the tables, a bit tired. She'd be raring to go again in a minute, maybe. "I'm gonna be resting for a minute!" She called out. Maybe Weavile would need a break, too. She also had money on her for food. She really wasn't sure whether or not she'd want to eat anything at that concession stand, though. Such greasy food...

A break did sound good right about then. Weavile had more or less gotten the hang of it. He couldn't compete with Misty, but she had years of practice behind her.

Following behind her, he sat down at the table. He had become a little hungry and tired from the workout. But it was a good tired. Weavile was still ready to skate some more.

"I think perhaps after this break, I'll change into Pokemon form," he mentioned. No doubt that would please the gym leader. She seemed rather excited for it, after all.

"That would be great!" Misty was obviously thrilled. She wanted to observe more of how the ice-type worked. She focused primarily on water-types, so her focus was more on them than the ice-type. Despite this, though, her passion for the ice-type was nearly as great as that for the water-type. They are very similar, after all, and ice is water.

"Are you hungry first? Or thirsty? I might see if they have iced teas over there," she told him. She liked regular iced tea sweetened gently, not heavily, with sugar. She didn't want to get cavities or anything.

Iced tea. Oh Misty, you knew just the right words. Smiling, he replied, "Sure. Ice tea would be nice. Thank you."

Then again, the concession stand looked a bit dubious. No doubt all of the drinks had ridiculous amounts of sugar and all the food was loaded with unnecessary fats. It was a good thing he had eaten before they left. But iced tea was iced tea was delicious any which way.

That is exactly why Misty was getting nothing much else than iced tea. Good thing that she and Weavile was thinking similarly, though. She approached the stand, exchanged some cash for both drinks, and then returned to the table.

"They wanted to know if you wanted anything in your iced tea! I wanted nothing in mine," she said.

"Nothing in mine as well," Weavile replied. Certainly not if it was anything along the lines of lemon, honey, or more sugar like he was thinking.

Sitting at the table, he realized that Misty was paying for most of the things today. That wasn't very gentlemanly of him. He felt somewhat guilty. Perhaps if they went someplace afterward, he'd be sure to pay for that.

Misty left, and then returned with their drinks, chilled with ice and ready to go. They were just two tall glasses of plain ol' iced tea, nice and ready to drink.

"Here!" She set his down on top of one of the two napkins she brought, as well, and then repeated the process with hers. She sit down across from the table and began to sip her drink.

Well, she could just drink in silence forever. She'd have to make some conversation, or things could be a bit... awkward.

"So you're an ice Pokemon, so I know you'd love to ice skate, but have you ever tried swimming before?" Some ice-types probably did swim, but not all. She was curious.

"Thank you," Weavile accepted the ice tea. Sipping it, he was pleased to note that it wasn't overly sweet. In fact, it was rather refreshing.

Glancing over at Misty, he thought about the question. "Yes, I've swum before. It's been a while, though. And I believe I've had more practice swimming in human form." Smirking, he commented, "Wet animal hair does not smell pleasant."

Misty laughed uneasily. That was a disgusting thought. Then again, she was also a bit used to that scent, seeing as she had a Floatzel of all Pokemon.

"That's for sure! I swim all the time, though. I really miss swimming in the summer, but... I guess there's always indoor pools in heated places," she mused, tapping her glass with her nail. "So I guess you don't swim often then? You're an ice-type, so I'm wondering how that compares to water-types and their swimming!"

Oh, it seemed he had made Misty a tad uncomfortable with his comment. Weavile had intended for it to be humorous. Then again, since she no doubt had water-types with fur, perhaps the joke hit too close to home. He'd have to keep that in mind.

He swished the glass a little, hearing the ice cubes clink against each other. "Well, ice-types aren't physically built for swimming. Most water-types have fins, flippers, or aerodynamic shaped bodies for propulsion. Comparatively, ice-types are heavier in order to cope with harsh weather. Weaviles in particular have sharp claws, which aren't exactly the easiest to use as far as propelling or steering under water."

That was very, very interesting. Misty knew how water-types were built for their environment, and surely ice-types would be the same. However, it was neat to know that despite ice being directly related to water, things... didn't quite work the same.

"Oh? I didn't even know that! Well, that's why I'm a water-specialist and not an ice-specialist," she admitted before taking a drink of tea. "Though I have always loved ice-types anyway! Do you know Lorelei of the Elite Four from Kanto and Johto? She retired some time ago, but she was really good! She's... almost a role model to me!"

Was that a dreamy sigh? Yes, yes it was.

"Lorelei?" Weavile repeated. "Not particularly, no." The name conjured something in the back of his mind, but he wasn't sure what. Though the fact she was from Kanto and Johto would explain why he didn't know her. The only famous people the Pokemon heard about were mostly from Sinnoh.

Now that he thought about it, Misty probably had some dual ice-and-water types. It wasn't uncommon for certain type trainers to have dual types. Weavile was now a bit curious. "If you don't mind my asking, you have some dual-types, correct? In your opinion, do they act more like water types or like ice types?"

"I have a few," Misty commented. Her eyes went half-lidded, as if a bit thoughtful, before she gave a better answer. "I have my Starmie, but it's a water and psychic dual-type, and it's more like a water-type, that's for sure! I have Lapras, too, and it's water/ice, but Lapras... it's more like a water-type with its flippers and surfing and everything! Though I guess it's bulky like an ice-type."

She continued on. "My Lanturn's a dual-type, water and electric, and I don't think there's anything ice-type-like about her. Quagsire, too, and its a water and ground type!"

In the end, all water-type-esque, nothing at all like the ice-types she saw or heard of. At least, that was gathering from what experience she had.
