Who: Miller, Snake, Gandrayda, Shiek, Vianca, Ionia, Giovanni? DID I FORGET ANYONE.
What: A super-secret infiltration mission.
When: The night of the 18th
Where: A "company building" that looks suspiciously like a military base whoa what the--
Warnings: HIGH TENSION, LONG-ASS MONOLOGUES, UNHELPFUL CODEC ADVICE.
This was it. The new MSF's first real mission. Miller was wondering when they would get one! But there were a lot of things bothering him about it. One, it was far too soon-- he hadn't even begun to train the new recruits. Sure, they'd been briefed on the mission itself and given
tips before the mission started, but could they really pull it off? Having an expert like Snake on board was a real confidence booster, at least. They'd be fine.
But just who was their employer, really? If they knew his name and that the MSF was up and running again, it would have to be someone in the school behind the whole Meteor Tech corporation. Why didn't they just come to him in person? Then there was the whole matter of this unstable energy source supposedly being disastrous in the wrong hands. Yeah, that would end well.
But he'd already received part of the payment. The rest of that money was too tempting to worry about moral dilemmas. He'd willingly walked into obvious traps for the sake of expanding the MSF before, and things turned out fine in the end. At least the team wouldn't be killing anyone if they could help it.
He and the support team had crammed all their computers and documents into Miller's dorm (it was a little roomier than his office), while the infiltration trio had been armed with tranquilizers and signal disruption devices provided by Giovanni. Miller checked his watch. Given the coordinates AND THEIR UNSPECIFIED MODE OF TRAVEL, they should have been nearing the facility by now.
Miller turned on his radio. "Okay, team. What's your status?"
