Who: Voile and Giovanni What: Hanging out at the Mall~ Where: The Mall When: Saturday afternoon - evening Warnings: None I know of, he'll behave around her
She was dressed nicely. Voile was always dressed nicely. Perfectly set ruffles to go with a perfectly set summer dress, and a perfectly set smile spread across her face. Only those who really knew the inside of her could determine how much of that perfection was really just a façade. She was anything but that, and chances were that the flaws she preached about to people like Cyrus, were the same flaws that made her exactly who she needed to be
( ... )
That she was. He'd noticed that about her. Much like him, in a way. He made sure to be always presentable: perfectly pressed suit, perfectly combed hair, always giving off the impression that he knew exactly what he was doing at every moment, and God help you if you question it. That was a pretty tiresome act to keep up all the time, though, and he was glad he could relax a little with her.
Pulling up, he stepped out, returning her wave with a small smile. "Hello, Ms. Voile. I have looked forward to this as well." He opened the passenger's side door and gestured for her to enter, "How have you been?"
It was the gesture of a gentleman, the kind she read about in books, but never really experienced firsthand. Most things she never experienced firsthand. Unfortunately. Or fortunately as the case sometimes was. If she got accustomed to that kind of treatment, the disappointment in the end always got so much worse and for all of her optimism in the world, it was really for other people.
"No different than usual," she admitted with a cheerful upturn of the lips. "Schoolwork keeps me very busy. About as busy as an able-bodied instructor, I'm sure. This time away from the studying, however, is just what I need."
She paused momentarily, her expression growing serious as she made herself comfortable in the passenger's seat of his car, "I hope I'm not taking you away from something important." For what could be more important than a teacher's curriculum?
"Don't worry, Ms. Voile..." He smiled back, sliding into his own seat from the other side, "I have everything taken care of for this past week. I am in need of a break myself. Everything's been a whirlwind...feels good to go out and do something different than usual."
Yeah, that Hot Springs incident wasn't relaxing. He'd pretty much holed up in his room -not much difference than normal- until the clucking and chirping stopped.
And it was, too. She wondered if he knew that, though. Part of her didn't want him to know and the other part just didn't care enough to deter him.
"Will you be shopping for something in particular today?" she asked as she fiddled with the ruffles falling across her lap. Her head tipped to the side and she could not hide the prying curiosity within her gaze. He was, after all, such an irritatingly fascinating man.
