"...right."

Linebeck noticed Jolene sway a little, and snickered a little. But he too, was a bit tipsy. But he was a bit better at hiding it - as college drinking contests had made him learn. Still, the rum did make him speak a little too much.

"But it's a pirate's way eh? No offense or anything...but it was really easy to take."

"Maybe that's because I never expected someone like you to take it," she slurred and pointed at him with her bottle. She then noticed it was there and took a swig before continuing.

"Yeah, cause, y'know, you never think that your friend is gonna steal everythin' ya got!" she hiccuped and laughed at herself, "I think I'm getting drunk. This stuff must be stronger than Beedle's normal supply!"

Linebeck blinked a little. He had cursed to himself for saying his previous statement but was even more surprised by what Jolene had said: she didnt become angry. But then, it may have been from the rum.

"S'guess...if it's imported, it may've been the better rum...not the weak stuff," he looked a bit guiltily at Jolene's drunkened form, but his condition was no better. "Buuut let's forgit that huh? I jest was a...uhhh..."

Words were a bit blurring together, and he really had a headache...

"Right-o!" Jolene hiccuped. No need to dampen the mood with bad memories, right? Right. After all, this was the first time in a long time that the two had actually sat down and been nice to each other.

"So, Linebeck!" she tried her best to get to another topic, "I hear you're a doctor now!"

"Almos'..." muttered Linebeck. "I still hafta get to peer reviews...and crap. It ain't the medical doctor you might think about..."

He took another swig despite his consious saying no - besides, the former captain wanted an alcohol binge.

"My papers took me a while to write...it was a bit hard ter do with students aroun' and stuff...and hmmm. Who didn' know about sex in yer class anyway? Half of them make out and stuff in the halls and I'm surprised meself..."

Jolene was a bit startled by a change in topic from math doctors, to sex class. But she was too drunk to make an innuendo.

"Oh...." she thought, trying to remember the students' actual names, "Um, That girl with the......... the yellow one... um.... Miss Cherry Pop. And, uh.... them little Mushroom kids were confused about spores. Then there was that frog who didn't know there was more than one position, and... yeah," she sighed, "Them kids is stupid."

She took another sip of rum, not really caring whether or not she was drunk anymore. Actually, she never really cared in the first place.

"But Greenie seemed embarrassed, he made me laugh!" she giggled at the thought of Link squirming in awkwardness.

"Greenie? Cherry Pop?? Huh," Linebeck mused. "Ye make really odd nicknames Jolene...at least Dink ((TLink)) is recognizable...but har har! Little Dink in yer class? Damn..."

He tottered a little, almost knocking over his pile of books that served as his chair, but he righted himself (somewhat) with the bookcase behind him. Then walking over to his desk, he unsteadily opened his rupee candy jar and took a green one out to chew on. Then he held the jar precariously to Jolene's red face.

"Want a lemon drop?"

Jolene smiled, "Lemon's my favorite, Linebeck. Looks like you ain't a complete idiot after all," she commented as she took the lemon drop rupee from the jar.

She never thought Linebeck would even pat attention to things she liked. But people can surprise you.

Linebeck carelessly dropped the jar back into its normal place before slumping on a clear spot on his desk - which still had a bunch of papers and such. In his drunk state, he felt pretty good now that the lime-flavored candy was taking some of his headache away.

"N'problem. I'm not that dumb ya know..."

"Apparently not," Jolene snickered. Then, just for fun, she used one of her balancing feet to kick Linebeck. She successfully nudged him with her toe, but this lose of balance caused her to fall backwards and crash the chair into the floor.

"Ow," she muttered before rubbing her head, which had hit the chalk board, "Damn chair..."

"Wha-?" He kinda fell forward, but he thankfully did not hit any of his dusty book-piles. But he managed to turn around to see Jolene fall on his chair. He snickered a little before quickly (worriedly?) sauntering to her.

Usually he'd have cared more for the condition of the chair that Jolene fell off from, but due to his inebriated state, all he could do is gawk at Jolene.

"...ye okay, mate?"

She blew a bit of hair from her face, "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," she grunted before getting herself up and grabbing the bottle of rum.

She took another swig. "I think I broke yer chair," she added.
